I don't believe its a sure thing. And no nothing new on the Album (your showing your age). LOL
just boring on this site ;-)

Yeah, I think with Facebook and Twitter, these types of boards are probably going to start diminishing somwhat. See? I knew about Twitter...I'm not so old after all!! LOL
Besides, when talking about repetition/regurgitation, most writers still use the euphemism "broken record" (not scratched CD) so I used album to keep in line with that, but yeah, I'm no spring chicken anymore!

Funny.

Hey Dignity,
Over on another site, I hear the NW FAs saying there are too many bells (I didn't even know you guys were starting our procedures). They were talking about your "green light." I guess that's to tell the cabin crew you've reached 10k feet? What do you think? I guess the green lights days are numbered. I think a few less bells might be nice, but you get used to it.

Well you got me on that. I still don't understand this twitter thing and myface stuff.

Boards like this have always been cyclical. Somedays the posts grow exponentially, other times all you hear are crickets. It usually depends on either a debate between 2-3 people, or a "significant" event of some sort to trigger traffic and/or posts.

Facebook and Twitter (along with text messages) are a great way to get info out to a large group of people in a short amount of time.

What's wrong with vinyl? I have a whole milk crate full of records that I still listen to!

Luke, thanks for mentioning the bell thing.....what the h***! I am not opposed to any of the other changes that have been introduced but, the 4 bell thing....it's got most of us jumping out of our seats....it's just so loud. Our green light was such a gentle reminder of what was going on, it let us know when to make the appropriate announcements, the passengers could care less about the 10K thing.... yikes! I hope you're right- I hope I can get used to it......

Having spent 27 years at airlines where bells were used (PI/US) I think it's safe to say that you'll get used to it.

While I'm certainly no expert on other airline's airplanes, I suspect that it was easier and cheaper to change to using bell signals across the combined fleet than add lights to those airplanes that don't have them.

That's what happened with the US/HP merger - both sides used bell signals but the number of "dings" used didn't match. US used 1 and 3 bells while the HP planes apparently weren't capable of giving an odd number of "dings". So the signals were changed to the number of bells used by HP (just a function of how many times you flipped the switch or pushed the button on US planes) instead of modifying the smaller HP fleet to give a single bell (which would have cost money).
