He refuses to NEGOGIATE and give us back what we gave up.... company is making big ### profits thanks to our lowly wages high health care costs... gee freedum he is such a good guy may be we all will vote for him for president of the usa... NOT!

You guys who have been here for thirty years don't seem to care about the future of this company and that's fine I can understand that your going to retire soon and want as much as you can get out of the next contract as possible ,the rest of us who have to keep working want to make sure our company doesn't end up weak and sick .

Your post shows quite a bit of disrespect to the people that were taking pay cuts and concessions while you were still crapping in your diapers...

Delta also went back on their word and cut jobs in MSP and had to pay the state back on incentives after the merger.

To be fair, the paying back of incentives was separate from the jobs cut. They paid early, and are therefore no longer obligated to maintain any level(s) of employment that were part of the agreement.

That said, your overall point is valid. We can also add ANC, and MEM to the list of places with cut jobs as well...

Marvin......it is time to back away from the keyboard and work some flights for a while ......a long while (hint, hint)

I have to take exception with what you've said Robbed ... I call them like I see them ...I agree that fleet service has valid grievances with this company but I think your slandering of the CEO is out of line ..

Doug parker is known for giving TONS of money to his church and the local community , and surprisingly he doesn't toot his own horn about the giving ....

I think he DOES care about his own workers and he's shown a real corporate commitment to the local communities where US airways flies , there are so many different programs this company does to help people that I can't even remember all of them ...What's the latest one with the dogs for the blind that we're shipping across country on our carrier ...and then there's that North pole program for the poor kids where we transform one of the gates at Christmas time , food drives , the angle drive for toys ....

I can understand that your very angry ,I know you've had to move at least twice because of station closings ..but we are a company that exists within a capitalist system ...There are gains and there are losses , this company cannot give in to every demand of it's work force or else it would run the risk of turning into the Detroit auto workers , there's a balance ...I try not to take things too personally ,but I have to admit that if I had been forced to move not once but twice I would be pretty damn bitter ..

I don't know what to tell you , but I will say this , I don't Doug Parker is a bad person , I think he means well and he does the best he can .
Marvin,
You are truly misguided. Maybe you should seek a position among the white collar "professionals" of our company. Based on your posts... your state of mind and reasoning certainly qualify you for such a position. It is where you truly belong. If you can't stand behind labor's positions; then you're welcome to stand opposed and in front of labor's efforts to improve the working conditions for those they represent. Do you understand? Choose now!

First of all I neither confirm nor deny whom you think I may or may not be .

Oh please , other than my yes vote on the last contract I'm the best friend labor has left in this country ....

Don't you proceed to lecture ME on support for labor in this country ...time and time again I rail PUBLICLY against the never ending importation of cheap third world labor into this country to replace America's blue collar class ...

And while you and others continue to live in sort of economic fantasy world I'm not so easily seduced by the TV telling me that everything is "OK" ....your fighting for some sort of "whatever" future for this workforce ,I"M fighting for a secure future for our workforce that will endure uncertain economic conditions ...

You see Doug parker as the enemy,I see him as a means to an ends, those ends being lock solid job security not only for fleet but for all the workers at this company ( via this merger)

I know that many of you have been through a lot these last twenty years in the industry ,nothing but wage cuts and reductions of benefits and that many of you are angry ...I don't know what to tell you (fight harder ) ... I don't blame Doug parker for operating this company in a capitalistic society ,that's simply how things are .

.....these last twenty years in the industry , ...I don't know what to tell you ...

I'm making a reasonable guess, based on your posting history, that even a mere 20 years ago you were either in, or just freshly out of diapers. "I don't know what to tell you ..." is the understatement of at least the year. You certainly don't. First grow up, and then get back to us all. ;)

Well if you like I could give you a dissertation on high labor costs, the increase in the price of oil along with the outsourcing of America's manufacturing base .....Oh and I forgot the rising price of healthcare.

But I figured you all knew that by now so why bother.

"But I figured you all knew that by now....."

That's an unusually astute assumption on your part kid. ;)

Your new homework assignment/"dissertation", for the betterment of your continued, and hopefully, ever-expansive-life-voyage into the larger, real world, is to accurately and specifically define "high labor costs". No full-fledged, doctoral "dissertation" required.....?

None of which changes the fact that rallying and picketing the DOJ (the topic of this thread) would be pointless and have practically no effect on the outcome of the trial.

I read these post from US employees about supporting the company and petitioning the DOJ. IT MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE. Many of you think your not going to get laid off? PHX, you've already been told your going to be a focus city. What does that mean? Call LAS and ask them. The company doesn't support the worker's and if they did , we would be under a decent contract. Management in no way is going to let this company go under, So stop the pathetic, I love the company bullcrap and start supporting yourself and your fellow workers. WORK SAFE.

Rock,

Hit upon so many issues, for which I completely agree.

PHX FSA looking for job security through an AA merger? "Viva Lost Vegas" for those who need a reminder, as there are many parallels: 1) Low Yielding Market, 2) Alternative Hubs in Region, 3) Heavy Southwest competition.

Management providing little respect on the PHX ramp, while the Tempe Boys appear to offer little concern, but we are suppose to rally for them in a public protest?

We review those silly i-learning computer courses where it clearly states that we are not suppose to scan and unload bags from the bins at the same time, but yet, that's the norm on most flights. Going to make a claim for an OJI and be denied because someone didn't "work safe", but yet Management would be on our asses about not getting the download completed sooner?

Now I made an observation about the PHX airport authority who seems to have stalled on the employee parking garage addition near the 44th Street White Elephant Sky Train Station. Maybe they aren't buying the Tempe Boys story about no cuts to PHX and decided postpone the construction after grading the area several months ago?

The Tempe Boys may be pretty shrewd finance guys, but there is a real distrust from within the government officials, the employees, the flying public and the general public, especially when Corporate dispatches one of their talking heads to answer questions while saying nothing.

Armed with such a vast array of knowledge, I should assume that you attained that knowledge through college by earning an advanced degree.

Therefore, I am baffled why you would be in a fleet service role at any airline with such credentials.

Either that, or you learned what you know from that "talking TV" you brought up in an earlier post.

There are plenty of educated that people have careers in the airlines whether it is customer service, fleet service/ramp, flight attendants, etc. I know a Yale grad that works for UA/CO an Newark International F/A. Loves the job, traveling, spending time on the planes and the flexibility the job affords.
