You noticed this pilot has already made it public knowledge that he doesn't care if we make it or not, he is ready. That is good for him, and to that I say Bravo.
What about the rest of you? Would you burn the place down?
MMW you know better, too bad you are caught up in the veneration of destruction that has been spun with manipulation by egotism.
UZA -
I was going to avoid taking issue with you because I felt that your postings on here purely self serving and totally lacking compassion. I will say this about my change of heart....
I was a die hard company man. I have defended Dave and his team many times over because I felt that he needed a chance to prove himself and his views for the direction of the company. I have also taken people like PitBull to task on many occassions for what I view as problems within the organization.
Where Dave and company have lost my support is in their ability to recognize the tremendous sacrifices that the employee groups gave to support the airlines emergence from bankruptcy. Dave can't put out a message the strokes the morale of the employees without adding a BUT to the sentence. Every weekly message is filled with doom and gloom with the threat of further reductions, concessions and job losses constantly in the background.
If I honetly felt that the company was doing everything in their power, utilizing every cost savings measure in every contract they signed, I would be behind Dave 100%. Instead, every contract that was signed is open for "interpretation" and is violated with no amount of explaination and total disregard to the employees effected. If any employee group were to violate the contracts the way the company has, would you have reacted any differently?
The employees are not the problem here. The people at the top of this tree do not lead by example, but by intimidation. If we were using our resouces to the best of their abilities, i would support them. If they had a business plan that was more then sticking it to the employees, I would support them. If every department was tasked with finding ways to save money and reduce costs, and those ideas were taken seriously, I would support them. If we had focus and direction, that was clearly laid out to every employee, I would support them. If employees were motivated, inspired and respected by their managers - all the way up to Dave, I would support them. How is it you expect any employee here to have the slightest amount of respect for anyone at the top of this tree, when there is no one at the top that respects them?
I, as many here, have made provisions for myself in the event my job is eliminated or the company folds. I have reduced all of my debt, sold my house and have my ducks in a row. You may ask why do I stay here.....I stay here because I love what I do, I love the people that I work with, I love the paycheck that I bring home, I love the customers that we serve. I will do what is reasonable to keep all that. If the expectations of Dave and Dave are unreasonable I will do what is necessary. Do I hold the same views as the hardline union people here? No. I will listen to what is being asked for, what the plan is, how it pertains to me and then determine if I can live with those concessions. You need to stop dictating what people should do and start respecting that every individual will vote or do what they feel is necessary for their own well being.
