Pilots want a Raise

Just a little clarification on pilot pay-cuts.

Many pilots have taken as much as a 61% paycut. Almost half the pilot group took 100% paycuts.

This is in addition to the 30% of their career compensation paycut (paycut in arears) they took when the (criminal) union gave away the pension plan.

Also, max of 44 days vacation then, max of 21 now.

Unpaid "distance learning" (a sop to "legally" cover the companies tutu), the learning part is a literal joke. It also has the (intended?, unintended?) effect of stifling a threat-free environment to share anecdotes as well as providing much needed input to training as well as "upper" management.

Health benefits (necessary to continuing work to 60/65) slashed (in line with other employee groups). I wonder why so many ops people show up for work sick.........

It goes on and on.

This is in addition to going from working 12 to 15 days per month to 17 to 19 (SWA pilots work 11 to 12, sometimes 14 days per month <- direct quote from management). OBTW, SWA pilots make some 50% more than the majors. Most LCC East pilots make less than their counterparts at LCC West.

ALL unionized employees took major hits.

you had 2,000 mechanic and related laid-off too.

Pilots make more so of course dollar amounts you gave more, lets go by Percentages instead.

700UW,

I guess you can't read. Did he not say 61%, 100%, 30% and 50%. Just what kind of percentages did the IAM teach you?

He was meaning paycuts we had 2,000 IAM members who took 100% paycuts, just on the mtc side, another 600 or more on the ramp.

We had many take 30% and up.

Maybe you cant comprehend those things.

We also lost our pension and that is not even figured in.

WTF, the topic is pilots want a raise. The guy said 61,100,30 and 50 %. Then you cut him off and make it an IAM issue.

NO it is an everyone issue, you all act like the pilots are the only ones who took paycuts to save the company.

Hate to tell you but every unionized employee took it in the shorts.

No one took 100% paycuts unless they continued to work for free. Layoffs stink, but are vastly preferable to indentured servitude.

when the (criminal) union gave away the pension plan.

That's like saying you "gave" your wallet to the mugger holding a gun to your head.

We had two choices, what we have and unemployment.

Nobody was going to pony up the money to save the pension.

Tell that to the furloughed pilots. And tell the reserves they are not now working under "indentured servitude."

Or as the WN pilots once called us "Dead Men Walking."

There are currently joint negotiations with US and Cactus pilots and US management. The US pilots are paid less than the Cactus pilots for flying the B737 and A320. Think the Cactus pilots are going to take a pay cut to put this thing together?

With the stock at $47.30 today and some good financials forthcoming, the concession stand may finally be closed. Except some of the same ALPA "Giveaway Gang" is still in office, so who knows.

Good luck to all employee groups. Everyone deserves to get something back for their pain.

Ok Mr Passenger, you dont work for US.

Lets see there are 20,000 less employees at US/East they no longer recieve a paycheck as they were furloughed.

Furloughed=100% Paycut.

Too hard to comprehend?

Once again, a 100% paycut means you continue to work but receive zero pay.

Comprende?

No it does not, since you are not a US Employee is it too hard to understand?

100% paycut is FURLOUGHED!

JS,

Pretty narrow thinking on your part. Those who are furloughed are the pilots who took a 100% pay cut from U.

Total 1,879 from mainline.

Exactly!

Do US employees use "new math"? I live in the real world, where a 100% paycut means you work without pay. It is not the same as a furlough/layoff/termination.

100% pay cut in the concessionary world means...gone, kicked to the street, no job, no pay, no work.

USAirways union busting management DEMANDED 22,000 employees across the labor groups to lose their jobs over 3 years. That was part of the business plan and only a portion of the concessionary packages.
