Had enough yet pilots?

It doesn't matter what group of employees that you belong to, Doug Parker is not about to sit around the campfire with you, roasting marshmallows, and pass out money because he wants you to be happy.
He is a businessman, just like all of the others in corporate America. Corporate America SUCKS. Get used to it.
It is up to ALL of the unions in this company to STAND UP AND FIGHT LIKE HELL to get decent contracts. Period.
All of the fighting between East and West, between unions, and between each other, needs to stop.
If people don't like their union officials then they need to get off their butts and get involved with their unions. Start doing the work yourself. Go to your union office and volunteer so that you actually know what is going on. Get involved. And get ready to fight for fair contracts. Nothing would be worse for this company at this point than to have big workgroups readying for work actions.

Yeah, we've all done that - years ago. That's what it takes to get to the "throne" where pay/benefits/workrules were once worth it. No offense, because the other employee groups are incredibly valuable too, but that's exactly why we deserve more than the other groups and more than we're getting right now.

IMO we all deserve more if the company can dispense bonuses and beaucoup stock options for management.
Well Swaayze, my point is if you think it sucks for you, it sucks far worse for everyone else, outside of the millionaires in PHX.

Nice post hula,

There are essentially ONE way to ensure that you max out your income opportunities.

1. Work in an industry that is growing
2. Work for a company that is a leader in the field.
3. Work for a company that is growing AND profitable.
4. Maintain marketable skills that other employers need.
5. Seek to improve your marketability within and outside the company DAILY!
6. Be aware of your economic landscape, be prepared to move on if a better opportunity comes your way
7. Educate yourself on financial matters, learn how to read the company reports.

If you don't then you put your fate in others hands. In aviation those other hands are those of your union brother/sisters, the international union, the company and the economy in general.

NONE of the above listed entities have your best interest at heart 100% of the time as there are many variables in play at any one time.

8. Win an election at the AFA Office in PHL.

Now that most airline pilots nationwide are all drinking from the same turd ridden punch bowl still no one dares mention the acronym SOS. As in nationwide SOS by all.

SOS has been whispered in the past but quickly silenced by the higher powers.

There is a point it would happen, I just don't know where that point is. When truly enough is enough I would think.

It will happen when a leader has enough self-respect to go to jail. He must sense that he will be supported.

ALPA is like the Democratic party, afraid to extend such a reassurance. It is a direct reflection of our very weak pilot group. JG and company will exploit such a weakness, heck, it is in their job description.
