Well I'm not going to start saying yes, because you just don't know with this company. But I certainly don't think it hurts us. Especially since we have the coalition set up, and the coalition gets to declare single carrier status, not the airline. Many people don't realize what a big deal that is. But it was huge that the IAM & TWU came to that agreement.robbedagain said:cb good luck in phx nxt week it sound like now the iam has a lot more ammo to get a better deal for both 141 and 142 am i right esp in light of todays settlemt?

The coalition needs to be ready to stand firm in their insistence of reaching Section 6 contracts with the former US bargaining groups before entering into Transition talks and requesting single carrier status. This is our only leverage. We should not hold out hope the NMB will release either group based on past history. It should be apparent to all... the battle lines have been clearly drawn. LOCK and LOAD! I wish the best to our NC going forward. I hope the membership rallies behind and supports our NC and the stated strategy.
Sorry for stepping on CB's post everyone. The second paragraph is my post and reply to CB's original. The opinions expressed in the second paragraph are those of ograc's and not necessarily CB.ograc said:

Thanks, we all just need to hang in there, don't get worn down, that's what the company is counting on. Hopefully the future is bright for us all. We definitely deserve some good times!!robbedagain said:thanks cb good luck in phx nxt week with them dirty donkeys hopefully theyll actually leave their stalls and negogiate in real terms

Don't let them combine operations since we won't be under one agreement. The synergies that fleet and maintenance can keep them from realizing will come into play eventually.
id think any joint contract would take years, so any amr agent woulx only get enhanced pay if our section 6 negotiations resulted in a pay raise that will further increase their 2015 pay parity snap. Unfortunately there is some ignorance with some twu members who think we are holding things up and that somehow a joint ta can be attained in record time. I hate to say it but they think usair management is the bomb.charlie Brown said:Ograc
With the coalition in place and both unions having to declare for single carrier status, I think eventually the TWU will be very insistent on is getting a section 6 agreement. After all they will want to improve on that POS contract they just voted in for 5 years. They can't improve on it until we get to the joint talks. So they have a pretty big interest in us getting a section 6 agreement ASAP.

You should remind US Airways management of the great political victory they've been given today (albeit with cost ) ......Ograc

I could be wrong, but I don't think a joint agreement will take that long. We should have most things in place from our section 6, we already have the seniority integration worked out, which is usually a huge sticking point. So I think you would be able to get right to the main issues pretty quickly on joint talks. I know that might sound like wishful thinking to some.Tim Nelson said:id think any joint contract would take years, so any amr agent woulx only get enhanced pay if our section 6 negotiations resulted in a pay raise that will further increase their 2015 pay parity snap. ush them hard not just to settle an agreement with US but to make the leap , bridge the gap and offer up an agreement so solid that both American AND US Airways fleet will immediately agree ...tell them to begin the new American NOW ................. with a fair and equitable contract .
