I'm going to stick my neck out a country mile here,------ but I believe that the whole sysyem of non reving will be a thing of the past within the next ten years, if not sooner!

Eliminating non-rev flying would be the biggest ever, and the first that would directly affect all employees (except, of course, upper management who would still fly first/business for free on this, and every other airline.  That cow would be waaaaay to sacred to kill.)

Let's hope you're right!

If replaced with a deep discount, confirmed space ticket system, I would have no problem with doing away with non-rev travel. And, no I don't consider 20% off the most expensive fare to be deep discount.

I wholeheartedly agree.  An ID90, or ID80 even, on the lowest fare with a reservation would be perfect.

It's funny how this thread gives the impression that the employees have any control over the non rev travel benefit.

True...In EVERY town hall meeting video where the non rev policy topic came up,  DP has explained the reasoning and that it is what it is..

Polls or no poll, it's FCFC and retirees will go after active employees.....Time to move on.

An 80% discount *with* a reservation?

Yeah, I'm sure that wouldn't be abused.

Oh, we can fantasize all day long on, what we as individuals, feel the non rev procedure should look like. But as has been stated before, the man has made up his mind, and that's it! We may, or may not, like it, but, like a lot of things in life, it is what it is! -------- As for if it will last, my gut tells me it won't!  It would only take one Airline to discontinue non- reving, and the whole house of cards would fall! ------ Let's hope I'm wrong! Won"t be the first time!

Cut out free flights and the ground crew is off to greener pastures. Half of them are for the flights, that's it.

You don't think management knows this .... they save wages with it. Government knows it too. And they want your last dime and they will come get it soon.

Amen. There is nothing the company would like better than to outsource ALL ground handling to a contract company which would be responsible for wages and benefits. Hell, if they could get away with it, they would outsource the flight attendants.
