New glassware sitting in storage

We could always have the passengers buy a US Airways wine glass, and then offer 99 cent refills.

SHHH, the corporate "management by Microsoft Excel" folk here will release a memo tomorrow about a $1 'pouring fee' - exact change requested, please!

I wonder if they have their Excel Licences up to date, gee Microsoft would have a field day if they weren't!

sky high states: The WEST side only uses glassware on long haul routes? Right?

Doesnt that create an INCONSISTENT product in first class?

   WOW, you have just shown EVERYONE ( as expected ) how white trash you are. FYI, US DOES NOT, I REPEAT , DOES NOT have low fares ( not FAIR ) you IDIOT!!! Just what one can expect from someone who is obviously uninformed, illiterate and all round lacking any class. If US wants a premium product, than they must make it such. Glassware is just a part of it. I think U belong at SOUTHWORST!!!

sky high states: You're reading comprehension is as good as your spelling. I was talking about consistency in service, NOT the pro's or cons of glassware.

It's employees like YOU that keep us in business. We all thank you for your insight. NOT! ! ! ! Your post speaks for itself. I absolutely HATE to fly with folks like you. I don't care if you pay $1,399.00 or $39.00 treat the customer right. You are obviously one of those "they get what they pay for" types. If US charges FC fares for their socalled "First Class" why shouldn't they serve drinks in real glassware if the competition is? We continually charge a F/C fare yet offer less than the competitor. Take the glassware off of the West a/c then and really save your dollars. Why on one but NOT the other? Oh yeah, the cost savings being realized by NOT putting the glassware on the a/c, where is it showing up in any other f/c enhancement? I think that would be a big nowhere.

And I'll bet with an attitude like YOURS, WalMart wouldn't hire a surly SOB (self absorbed, "I took a 21%paycut....") to retrieve shopping carts in one of their parking lots. And as far as RuthChris'....patrons there probably wouldn't toss you a crouton

Glass in FC. Plastic in Coach. That's fair. A person flying in FC is paying about 10x what the person in coach pays. How many glasses would need to be washed 10-12? A small price to keep a high paying customer happy. Giving the person that is paying that amount should expect decent service. Whether its an upgrade or a paying class, they pumped enough money in to get that far. Sure it adds to cost, but its the little stuff like that pleases a customer.

My sentiments EXACTLY! And for those individuals who don't want TO DO A F/C service, Don't FLY the Position......there are other people more than capable of doing the job and willing to do what they were hired for. And as for Management, IF you plan on offering a First Class cabin, OFFER a First Class product that both the employee is not ashamed of and one that a customer is willing to pay/upgrade for.

Right on Astro. I hate when someone TAKES the A position because the CAN but do a horrible service. I had one do the service "inflight" with her raincoat on. Ugggg. TRASH. The service is bad enough but some make it worse. If you know how to interact with people a water service with a dry pretzel can be at least pleasant.

We should have a "Purser" Program, like UA has. You should have to apply and interview for the postion. A training program should also be required. Then, only those people should be allowed to fly "A"!

I am with you on this but, who would be in the interviews? AFA and the company? Or just the company? Would this take away a bid position? How much coolaid would you need to drink? I love wonderful First Class service! But doesn't mean I need to suck the companys rear to do it.

Uhh... some of us do a good job with the Passengers, and suck NO rear in the company!
It amazes me how many bad "A's" we must have. Give the F/C passengers just a little attention, and they will get off the plane singing your praises. I see this everyday! NOT everyone should be allowed to fly "A", PERIOD!
