Yes I know but the issues with crew chief classification needs to be settled among the unions before we merge the two seniorities into one. Like I said we have several issues to sort out before we can merge the list as one.

Didn't the NMB determine the integration criteria?  What issues are you talking about?

My son's mother is in the seniority committee for the IAM, they have had a few meetings, the lead/crew chief issue is contractual and will be handled by the negotiating committee.

NMB takes care of class and craft issues. Title groups and so on. We have issues within the class and craft. We need to sort them out.

I understand that the President of TWU Local 514 has stated that "paraphrasing" the IAM has no interest in the wants or needs of the TWU at negotiations and that a sign contract could would not occur until late next year. Has anyone else heard this?

Ok I will through one I just heard.

There will be an early out consisting of:

2 years to your Age,

$140,000.00

and a Bridge to age 65 on Medical,

Opinion: I doubt this, but considering those qualifying, the question on Airbus maintenance and the MD80 going away by the end of 2016,  there may be a push to see how many would bite.
Wow.  That's amazing.  From our current management team?

Well, the early out just offered here in PIT consisted of 15 weeks of pay (severance), and a big $10.80 per hour for unused sick time.  One person took it that I know of, and he was 73 or 74.

You'll never see a buy out like that if any management from USAirways is involved.

No it doesn't. You do know the difference between integrated and implemented!

Do you know of a list of integrated seniorities?

I apologize for choosing the wrong words. Yes I do know the difference.

Don't forget to also sort out the Lead/CC scope of work. Maybe I'm off, but it sounds like there's some big differences between each carrier?

Obviously, I have no idea if this is true or not, but if it is there will be plenty of "I told you so" comments coming this way. I will be one of them. Regardless of it's validity, I'm still off the opinion, "strong" opinion that this "Association" was a horrible idea (for it's members) and it will cost us dearly. Follow the pilots and F/A's, along with past practice and have the larger union take control. I realize many Legacy US employees prefer the "ASS" to the TWU, but I honestly think in the long run (and probably not so long) there will be some regrets.
Even worse of course, we never had a voice.

Late next year? That soon?

Had a brief conversation with a union guy. We are in trouble as far as the negotiations on the association side. Not only do we not agree on work rules between the TWU and the IAM but 514 input to the negotiations is difficult. 514 is trying to protect work and jobs and the rest of the union guys are just trying to streamline the work rules one article at a time. I mentioned it earlier. We as a group have too many agendas. We have AA vs USAIR, TWU vs IAM, AA line vs overhaul, USAIR line vs overhaul, AA line vs USAIR line, USAIR overhaul vs AA overhaul. Nobody wants to lose out to the other. Yet the latest letter from 591 is wondering why AA has not put a proposal out to the union. We need to get our own house in order before we can move forward exchanging proposals. I wish the company and the association could at least try to get us that 4% in the meantime. We need to move move forward in some capacity.

Disagree

I think Peterson made the right call telling the company " show us what you got".
The company proposal will help shape agreements among the two unions quicker if they know ahead of time what direction the company wants to go.

Don't like the Ass, but this is a solid first step.

have to agree with that.

What I see is many articles with a TBD until we all are on the same page. We all want a jcba but at what cost to rules and scope? More side letters and TBD will solve most differences at what cost to who? What do we do if a proposal comes from the company with many unresolved issues? Are we just going to vote on it and figure out the details later? Be careful what we are asking for. The devil is in the writing and that is what gets inforced.

Is he the spokesperson for the Association? Will the company acknowledge him? Didn't the IAM write a letter to the NMB saying GP speaks for himself and local but not all TWU members. Is there a way for him to make a motion to have the Association request the AA proposal or does GP sit staring at the phone just woncdering why Dougie won't make the first move and call?
