Negotiations........why?

So with this rumor that is floating around I can quantify it into a simple mathematical expression on your negotiations expectation.

This is what you will get to the famed "Big money in August" that is written on baggage carts at a station near you.

Can anyone give a answer to this formula?

Sure I'll bite. It's all about "synergies" which is fancy speak for "layoffs" so the unknown variable of the equation of 2008 seniority in a class 2 station is.... don't count on a raise for too long. So getting as much as you can for as long as you can may not work out to well!

Ok I will through one I just heard.

There will be an early out consisting of:

2 years to your Age,

$140,000.00

and a Bridge to age 65 on Medical,

Opinion: I doubt this, but considering those qualifying, the question on Airbus maintenance and the MD80 going away by the end of 2016,  there may be a push to see how many would bite.

OK.  Are Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny gonna bring that to us?  That is hilarious.  I might believe that for a management early out but not us.  Dream on

Buck,
That sounds like the United offer in 2010 that was never voted on. And where did this info come from? I thought the Assoc and Company haven't even spoken yet.

my understanding is that the negotiating committee is ready to negotiate the international will not come out and say it. but the position is they want to see the companies proposal. i suggest we hound the international to come out and call the companies bluff and when ever you talk to management ask them, where is the companies proposal?
The international is stalling because the 2 union bosses havn't cut their deal with the corporation yet. They negotiate their back room deal then let the charade negotiations begin.

I've heard similar talkings among union reps at DFW that they are ready to negotiate but are waiting for the companies proposal first.

With this goes a lot of experience out the door(aka:shooting themselves in the foot). But that's probably what the company wants, buying out a big chunk of the topped out work force and starting with new hires at bottom of scale, in all classifications.

They still have major issues to settle between the two unions. Seniority is one of them. If they rush this through we will see more articles labeled TBD at a later date. Your association at work for the best interest of the ____________. I'm not sure what goes in the blank anymore.
