I expect a downturn in the economy around 2018. That should be in line with our next contract negotiation session.

In 2013 he made $274,901 as a EVP.  How many reasons do you need???
That's three times the annual pay for an AA mechanic (at top of scale) and four times the annual pay of the average TWU member at AA.

It's like the communist party. Equality and fairness for all, except those in positions of power with the ability to live off the labor of others. What a parasite.

Lombardo and Virella are the key components in this equation.  What are they doing to get a proposal from the company?

The company has stated they are waiting for the Association!     What is the Association waiting for?

Every day we are losing money under the current bankruptcy agreement.

Parker said "the money will be there"     what are we waiting for?

I want to see the company proposal now and if not why?

the silence is deafening.....                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            I would think the company is enjoying the lack of ability of this association to even begin to negotiate. It's probably a big joke and it is an embarrassment to the work groups. It has taken so long to even be able to negotiate that it is shocking how the union is handling it now. No urgency at all. Some guys I know call the hall every week and now some of the elected reps have resorted to making snide remarks about how these guys call so often. Very unprofessional. This unions motto should be, ask not what the union can do for you, but ask what you can do for the union. Very disheartening.

Under the association constitution Lombardo can make a request. Why does he not do so? He was quoted in the beginning during his campaign he did not like the association and would argue against its existence. We should somehow write a formal letter and attach a petition with it from the members. At least we can see how he will respond. Sitting back waiting to see what this Association will do is wasting time. We are not getting younger. They already wasted over 9 months with the NMB filing while the other unions moved on with their negotiations
That actually sounds like a good idea.  Someone really should start this petition.  Why not start it right now?  Don't wait any longer. If this can happen then maybe you guys could still have a run off election between the 2 very unions involved with no outside intervention.  This is what should have happened from the very get go, an election between the 2 unions that are involved in the merger, TWU and IAM. What a concept, would love to see it happen, one or the other not both of them as an association that the members were forced into and never had a say or vote. This is really sad to see that they were able to mislead the entire membership into thinking they were gonna have a vote and BAM!!!  They never did, the NMB blessed the association behind closed doors and all this time the membership was waiting for their time to vote for or against the association.  What a bunch of crooks...

Forget the Association. Forget Lombardo and forget Virella. It's your Local President who is sitting in a room with the other two President's and their IAM counterparts trying to put the two pieces of the puzzle together. Go ask your Local President where they're at? Have they hit any walls trying to put all the language together? If they have then what are they doing to try and get past that?

The last Association update said they're awaiting a proposal from the company? Well? Are we going to know when they got one that they can go over? They're not going to give the details of that but it would be nice to know at least when that comes in?

Ask your President or AGC what's going on? Pick up the phone. Call him. Find out something.

Delta plus 7%? What might be asked in return for that? Will AA want something closer to what Delta does? How much work is in house over there to get those rates?

One Delta mechanic on another thread said that they do work for OAL. That they generate revenue for DL? Can you guys make a commitment to do the same at AA if this management team supports that work? (Not like the old one who gave it away)

If Parker says he wants your group to become lean and mean to support those wages are you willing to do it? Even if becoming mean and lean means more lost jobs?

"What" or "Will" you "Maybe", "Possibly" have to give up to get those great wages? Would that be a problem for you? Will OH slim down? Can you compete against third party MRO's?

Just asking the hard questions guys.

And before I get the comeback "We shouldn't have to give up anything" Tell that to the company when they're sitting across the table from you with checkbook in hand.

The fighting and bickering between the two unions is all about the association. We should have had a run off or the IAM should have conceded. If this happened we would be in pace with the other two unions on the property. It is all about the association.

Parker clearly states he talks to the association every day an they are not ready. he doesnt deal with gary peterson.

you are absolutely correct the only way we will know is if we get the proposal from the company. unfortunately the association or international does not want that to happen, negotiations need to be made accessible to the membership instead of the backdoor deals that get brokered all the time.  the proposal needs to be received publicly and shared with the membership.

the old way of negotiations are how we get screwed all the time, involve the membership.NOW.

Would've, should've, could've. Who cares. It's in the past now. If they are bickering then what are you guys doing to get it to stop? The marriage has been consumated and Dad won't let them get divorced even if they wanted to.

I want to know what you guys are doing to move things along? Are you trying to find out who might be holding things up and why the meetings only once a month so far? Are the two sides at loggerheads on any issues? Is anyone going to compromise or do they sit in a room staring at each other?

None of this BS gets us what we want and deserve. What we know is sitting out there waiting for us. Tick tock, tick tock. Time is wasting. Everyday spent infighting is money blowing away like a fart in the wind.

Griping, moaning and complaining against each other on Airline Forums isn't getting us chit. If there are problems going on behind the scenes then pick up the phone and tell them to solve them.

And if they don't want to then when the time comes you kick their collective asses to the curb. You vote them out.

Tell your President's that you demand to know what the hell is going on past this "see you again next month" shtick.

Ok well that's good that they are ready. So what's the holdup? Does one side have prior commitments that they made last year that they have to follow through with that is preventing them from meeting? Are those commitments almost done? Will there be any more? Are there people who have to be in the room that can't make it because of something else they have on their calender they also have to attend?

If the Association isn't ready (IAM or TWU) then why aren't they and who is holding things up? Especially if Peterson is saying that the committee is ready.

It's time to get this show on the road now.
