More Work

You seem to think that those that disagree with you have some how been dupped by management. Listen, there are plenty of people in management at the lower levels that don't like the way senior management treats the unions. Most people think they're too damn soft on the unions. People like you don't need to be working for AA, you're part of the problem not the solution. The best thing that could happen to AA is it to go into bankruptcy and have a judge blow all the union contracts up. Get rid of all the old, bitter, union crazies and bring in some people willing to work hard for a performance based salary, where the quality and productivity of your work determines your pay, not your seniority.

Spoken like a true "believer." Make sure you show this to your boss on Monday, maybe you'll get yourself an "At A Boy." Good luck finding your performance based employees, I highly doubt you'll get anyone crossing the picket line from Maintenance after you sh*tcan our contract. Go ahead and try to run your airline on scab labor, history says you will fail. You are typical of the management which has destoyed what once was a proud airline with proud employees, why don't you leave so we can save this airline from the disease that has destroyed it. You see, you can't blame labor or at least the twu represented labor because while you guys were tripping over yourselves collecting bounuses during the good years, we got 25 cents more an hour, wow. Now I would leave and can make more on the outside, but comments like yours just makes me want to stay on even more. You see after we finish off the twu this year, we finally get to take on you management guru's at the bargaining table with legitimate negotiators, and from what I see of your side, I'm not impressed.

Reding was recruited for the job, the company made an offer, he either took it or made a counter offer. Sounds like negotiation, similar to the negotiation that goes on between companies and unions.

Did you actually expect the company to say, "Well Bob, we'd love to give you that 2 for 1, max 10 yrs seniority accural you requested, but we don't want to tick anyone off, especially amfaman."

All major corporations recruit top level management. If you don't think that's fair, then don't work for a major corporation.

The compAAny is the one who started this so-called shared sacrifice BS. I just find it convient of them that they had enough money to dish out for 2 for 1 seniority when the ink was barely dry on the concessions. It was dated May 2003, but only released to the public this past week.

To answer your question, yes I do expect them to take into account the check each union member wrote the company before they turn around and waste it.

American is doing a bang up job right?

Let me see top level management who operate in the red.

Who sold the fuel hedges?

Considering all the lies, fraud, embezzelment, IRS tax problems, and the pure evil of the greedy corporate executive thugs that have ruined thousands of lives (Enron comes to mind) because of the "more is never enough for me" mentality they have. You need some new hero's pal. If you want a performance based salary here at AA, then it looks to me like your company bootlicker paycheck is taking a large hit.

I will see them weld the doors shut before I give AA management another dime. Old and bitter? No. Resolute and determined? You bet.

Ditto on the "NO MORE CONCESSIONS". If, or better yet when, the company comes after more, I will be active in obtaining NO VOTES for this. That includes doing so from a furloughed position. Enough is enough.

The plane sits on the ground for 12 hours, it would be stupid not to do all the work at that time. Its not "Your work" AA is in the business of making money, not supplying you with a job. You union people are so hypocritical, you demand a "business plan that works", but then also demand the company do things that drive up its costs. Its the same problem throughout the company, union and management, everyone bangs the "cost savings" drumb, but no one is willing to accept cost cuts in their on area.

First of all "It is our work". Or do you not understand the concept of a contract?

The fact is that some companies have unions, pay well and make money, SWA comes to mind.

As for the two-for-one rants... That's what the exec was able to negotiate. I'd think at least the true unionists should be able to respect someone who looks out for their interests when at the bargaining table with the company... ;)

What's wrong with the 12 hours it sat on the ground in the US with no check done. That's okay per management and its "Band of Believers" like you; let me guess, it's cost effective. :p  :p

Gee, Amfaman, I suppose you're right. We should route that really expensive 777 fleet so we get one less flight a day out of each aircraft. Smart move.

The 777 routings for South America typically turn off an inbound from Europe. That's the most effective way to route it. Not on a cost basis, but from a utilization basis. Aircraft don't make money sitting on the ground.

Resolute and determined? You bet.

Ignorant and uneducated is more like it. Good luck finding a job that pays you as well outside of AA. You union guys don't leave because you don't have anywhere else to go.

You union guys? What kind of "guy" are you? I do thank you for your concern regarding my employment search, how nice of you. Is it because I chose to work with my hands, instead of my mouth, that gives you a false sense of superiority? How about you pay my severance package and see how soon this union "guy" would kiss your happy fAAmily goodbye. Your rhetoric concerning unions proves your ignorance, thanks for not keeping us guessing.

Yeah, you just keep thinking that . I have a friend that started a landscaping business and you know what's funny? He makes more per hour landscaping on the side than working on multi-million dollar jets flying over the pond. I know you assume your ego and omnipotent superior intellect give you the edge, but lets ask your hero Bernie "Sourpuss" Ebbers of WorldCom how far his "superior" management skills got him? 15 to 20....years that is. Make sure you send him some fan mail while he's in the can. Hell, he might even invite you up to his cell for some training.

I don't leave because unlike your kind, I would rather fight than quit. The way your assisting in running this compAAny, its looks like you might be looking for a job right along with us "ignorant and uneducated" union guys, bootlicker. ;)

Where I work AA has lost a 11 year and 14 year veteran AMT's to another company recently. They started day one at $21.00+/hr with full benefits. If AA comes for another round of concessions you will see a mass exodus of veteran employees because we will not be able to afford to work at AA.
Most veteran employees are tired of fighting for too few seats when trying to non-rev attempting to use the "so called flight benefits".

We are losing mechs, too. The ones that leave are the better mechs. As time goes on, we are seeing a lower quality work force. Sort of a reverse Darwinism. You know, survival of the least fit.

Uneducated....ha ha ha. Sorry having a union-busting degree from George Washington School of Union Busting doesn't impress me one bit. :mf_boff: Why don't you get your so-called educated butt on out there and fix those planes, I could use a good laugh. You wouldn't last 5 minutes until you ran back to your,"I'm someone," desk job.

BTW...As I stated before, I can leave and make more money as each job below pays more than I make today and top pay is much more. I rather stay and fix the problems you've created.
