You never caught me in a lie as I dont lie.

You are the one who lied and my post proved it, it qouted you exactly where you called names and insulted me. Previous post

I am done with you, when you can actually post something relevant and and intelligent I will respond if I desire.

No go back to your own little world where you can do no wrong.

Since this thread started as the "Machinists Union Merger Update"...can we get back on topic?

For those of you who hate the IAM (and there are some, from what I've read on all the boards)...sign the card for the IBT and put it to a vote. Let the majority decide if it's going to be IAM or IBT who's going to rule your future for the next, what, 4-5 years.

IAM's current contract, from what I've read, is crappy. IBT is in process of negotiating a new contract. For whichever union prevails, it will be a long haul over the next several years. Who do you want in the driver's seat for YOUR future? Think about it. B)

The Airbus Arbitration is precident setting, the current IAM/US Airways Collective Bargaining Agreement requires all A320 Family heavy maintenance be accomplished in-house.

Which at the moment is being done in PIT, add HP's current Airbii into the mix and the PIT hangar is probably not large enough.

See if you were still a employee under the collective bargaining agreement you would know that.

50% of the 737 heavy maintenance is done in-house and it is done in CLT, not PIT, see if you were still US mechanic you would know that.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

This post as it reads, shows you to be correct.....BUT...This is the post that you EDITED after I caught you in a lie.....can I prove it??? I guess not.....But....YOU, and I know the truth....you edited your original post when I confronted you... the MASTER of spin......that is all.....good day....get back on topic.....

DOES THE IBT REPRESENT HP? SO DO WE ALL GET A CHOICE? WITH THE IBT WE COULD EARN A UNION RETIREMENT SINCE THE COMPANY NO LONGER FUNDS ONE. WE SHOULD AT LEAST BE GIVEN ALL THE OPTIONS TO MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE.

For anyone interested:

www.teamsterslocal104.org

All IAM members have the option to sign a Teamsters Union Authorization Card if they want to try and have a vote on which union will represent US going forward.

To have the NRLB call for a vote, 35% of all eligible members (HP/US) must sign cards. If less than 35% sign up, then it will stay with IAM. If more than 35% sign cards, then it will go to the membership for a vote of which union they want representing them.

If you want to sign an IBT Card, go to www.teamsterslocal104.org

On the homepage there, go to FORMS, then open Teamsters Union Authorization Card. You can print it out and mail it in.

Also on homepage is a position statement "9-12-05 Read Teamsters Union Position..." on merger.

It would be nice if you gave out correct information, the NLRB has nothing to do with union elections under the Airlines and the Railway Labor Act, it would be the NMB.

Second it takes 35% to have an election, not change unions, during the election a union has to gather 50%+1 of all eligible voters, that would include the several thousand laid-off US Mechanic and Related, so if either union fails to gather 50%+1 of all eligible voters you are not non-union and the company can do as they want.

And now the AMT's at NW are out of work and have no idea what their fate is. They're not eligible to collect unemployment and severance is out of the question.
See what happens when you think with your balls?

Lets see here.

US has heavy maintenance in PIT and CLT, we overhaul all A320 family aircraft and 50% of the 737s.

Where does HP do its Heavy Maintenance?
It doesn't, HP outsources ALL heavy maintenance to TIMCO in Macon, GA and then feeds the economy of a Central American nation when is sends its A320s to TACA in San Salvador.

And you get paid 50% for the first five days of calling out sick, unless you are hospitalized then you get 100% pay.

No one sits around on there rear, and if you cant remember or did not know US has been in bankruptcy twice in less then two years and the employees have been through three rounds of concessions, and the current CBA is a final offer as the judge abrogated the previous CBA.

No lets see we have been through concessions and yet kept heavy maintenance, what is HP's IBT excuse for not doing any heavy maintenance at all?

The membership is the union, so regardless if you are IAM or AMFA, the membership decides the fate, the members at US voted to accept the final offer and the members of AMFA at NWA never voted on it and they are now all walking the picket line (which I support) but yet have no strike fund and the members are relying on handouts from other unions and donations from a web page.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

As the surviving carrier, US Airways’ agreements will prevail regardless of the designated representative. However, if another labor organization interferes with the process, the integration may not go smoothly. US Airways employees, as they are generally more senior to their AWA counterparts, may risk a loss of seniority under another union's integration policy.

US airways is not the surviving carrier. Americawest is not the surviving carrier either. It is a new carrier (merger of 2) using a older recognizable name. This is according to the company Q&A in a plan deal.
