M and R negotiations

Back up your statement mr i think i know it all.

The IAM asked to be released, is that too hard to comprehend?

Dont you have to take care of the next person in line?

Teller #1 available.

As the company lapdog union the IAM is happy to kick the can down the road so long as the dues keep flowing. Too little too late they are happy to keep US employees in a BK agreement and abandon the membership in the merger.

Josh
Its not a BK Agreement. It's a transition agreement between the US and AWA Contracts. This is the first CBA post two BK's and one Transition Agreement. Get your facts straight !

In July we are due an automatic 3% increase per the contract, hoping if this thing keeps dragging on the IAM does not negotiate the retro giveback clause once again!!!

Bank teller? LOL. It would be nice to work standard hours I suppose.

This is where Bob said the IAM is happy to kick the can down the road:

Back on Topic.

If the IAM really is upset that US is not negotiating with them how come they have not asked the NMB for a release?

When we met with USAIR management back in July their COO pretty much said that the IAM was OK with just kicking the can down the road. The fact that they have not even asked to be released supports what the COO said.

Bob is a true union man, he wouldn't say it if it wasn't true now would he?

700UW keeps insisting the IAM has a bankruptcy agreement; Tim Nelson insists otherwise and says the IAM had an opportunity to make improvements in the transition agreement while 700UW defends the highly concessionary agreement saying it was achieved through abrogation. Sorry but you can't have it both ways. The IAM is happy to roll over for the company, they have done so time and time again.

VERY GOOD POINT. B)

Tim Nelson is not a mechanic and related, he is fleet and wasnt involved in negotiations for anyone.

Our CBA was Abrogated in January of 2005, a final offer was given and voted on and approved, it was not negotiated.

In 2008 a transition agreement was reached to bring the former HP M&R under the CBA, which led to a few improvements in the CBA. It was not a new negotiated CBA, it was a transition agreement.

This is the first section 6 negotiations since chapter 11.

And now it is time to work on another transition agreement. If the IAM insists on getting a contract before the merger it will be as the lower revenue, #5 carrier, which we are till the merger is completed. We get the 3% raise in July regardless. Let's concentrate on the transition so when the merger does get consumated in September/October we can go right into a top 3 contract.

We vote out the IAM and let the IBT stall and we still get the 3% July till AA votes the TWU out and votes in the IBT dropping the TWU contract to merge with US and then we go for #1 airline pay and a new CBA .

Travis, whatever you do, don't exchange the IAM for the teamsters. The teamsters will be a lot worse than you think. If anything just stay with IAM until after the merger. Once the merger is complete you guys will become what ever union is at AA, which in my opinion will be AMFA. Plus you guys do not want the teamsters doing your integration nego's, they will in fact do "behind closed door" deals, and the membership will not have any say so and rumors will run RAMPANT thru-out the membership during nego's. Watch over at AA how well the membership will be informed, and watch how they will poll the membership on what they want for their input, and with observers attending all the nego's, there will be no rumors to speak of. During this integration nego's, I am positive your membership will be better informed by AMFA's members, than by your own union the IAM. Also during this time you guys will see the big difference of being informed, having observers, and no "behind closed door" deals that all the industrial unions are so used to doing and will continue to do. AMFA will be at AA in 2013...

We have already had the IBT and I think they both suck big hairy balls! I hope AA does get AMFA in. The IBT seems to be slightly better than the IAM. They both do the back door deals. They both have the closed door negotiations that are total bullshit! Who's working for who? Are they not employed by us, the dues payers?!? Why shouldn't we know what they are doing for us? LET'S GO AMFA!!!!

The ibt has the highest percentage of outsourced work in the industry.

CO and UA outsource the majority of their heavy checks as does UPS.

Why are UA members on layoff while CO is hiring off the street?

Why are half the members at SFO forced to be in the LAX local and not where they work in SFO?

Thats what happens when you vote out the IAM.
Bringing Jobs Back at UAL and CAL
• Most outsourced maintenance work that took place
at United Airlines and Continental happened before
the Teamsters became the bargaining representative.
When the Teamsters were voted in at UAL, 11,000 jobs
had been lost due to weak representation by the IAM
and AMFA. When the Teamsters were voted in at CAL,
the DEN and LAX bases had already been outsourced.
• We have brought previously outsourced jobs back!
We brought back 400 mechanic jobs at UAL and we
continue to fight for more. We brought back more
than 500 mechanic jobs at CAL, including 737 and 757
check lines.

Copying and pasting from the ibt propaganda is not facts and truth.

WE? you are an ibt rep and a ua or co employee?

UAL has laidoff mechanics and CO is hiring off the street.

UA and CO outsource the majority of their heavy checks.

You can believe that bull #### if you choose.
I lived under the IAM, AMFA and IBT.
IMHO, for M&R AMFA is the best choice.
The IAM is better than IBT.
For M&R, the ibt is the twu on steroids!
You think the IAM is bad?
Go IBT and then weep.
Seeking change for the sake of change is not always a wise move.
The facts are out there. Educate yourself and others.
Don't trust the propaganda.
