that's not a question at all to me without scope it doesn't matter what make you if you're out of a job

We could always have the major hubs as the gathering place for all the geese flying south with the Pay.

Would you like for mainline to take over Express operations if we topped out at $22?
This question doesn’t make sense. Maybe I’m not understanding it? Why would you take a pay cut to take over express? You might take less of a raise going forward to take over the Work, but never take a pay cut to take it over. You can always get excellent scope without taking over express Work.

I was referring to the news letters promoting the union back in the day. PIT was already unionized so they would show us how much they made claiming to be better off.
We put those pay stubs on the flyers. They showed over $100,000 for some bos guys whose base wage was $17.88

Rat was saying he thought scope was the most important I said there should be a balance, If I was given a choice of a big raise or say all catering and freight jobs back at this point I would take the raise . I always felt the jobs for money concept diluted and in the long run hurt everybody......yup IGM so what

That's a lot of double time. Back then if you worked a double the first 4 was time and a half the second 4 double time. At JFK where I worked back then, they would actually try to mandatory people to work those hours

At least you’re an honest guy that’s for sure.

Yup, and your driving around in a Mustang not a KIA and I'm sure you have no plans to join a Monastery and take an oath of poverty. I do believe in acts of kindness however perhaps an occasional $20 tip to a waitress for a takeout order, things like that

I’ll be honest Al (Most people never are) if I was in my early 60’s and we had a contract offer that gave a $100,000 buyout offer but I would cause harm to people not even on the clock yet, my answer would more than likely be YES.

Yea they’d give me the middle finger for life but they’d also have plenty of time to fight their own battles.

That's been the sentiment by some for years (including me) and they (we) have been labeled as IGM, greedy,
sellouts among other things (by some even in this forum). Some feel you are screwing your future union brothers, even if they are still in the womb!

I don’t really care what someone wants to label or call me as long as I can lift my head up in the morning.

Once a kid gets on board (And passes probation) he becomes my Union Brother. I may not like the kid personally but I’ll stand up for him and his contractual rights.

Prior to that (For me) there has to be some measure of balance. I’d have a hard time voting in a Ready Reserve system as an example. That one would make me feel just a little too slimy. But I’d be open to conversation on things.
