"A union higher up" ha ha Timmy needs to get a proof reader. I'm going to go looking for a higher up right now
Regards
Al

I received this note on Tim’s newsletter here.

“A bin news was a a pro IAM underground newsletter during the organizing campaign for the ramp at US. It’s creator and author was John Aulicino and I believe he is dead now”

So freakin Tim can’t even come up with his own original newsletter name. Gee whiz man?????

They were actually making copies of their pay stubs to show how much they made in PIT it was like upper 80G this was in the 80s.A lot of double time

I was referring to the news letters promoting the union back in the day. PIT was already unionized so they would show us how much they made claiming to be better off.
By the way while this was going on AA/TWU were trying to implement the infamous "B"scale that would effect the entire industry

You mean AA offered that to the negotiators at the time who accepted it, brought it back to the members, and the members voted it in.

Majority rules even if the majority can sometimes be nothing more than a bunch of greedy pricks.

We didn't know the intricacies, just that to be competitive all airlines would have to go that way

Oh and Al in 1995 the greedy pricks voted in Junior Fleet Service Clerk at AA which lasted till 2001.

Now us greedy pricks will probably vote in an 11 or 12 year payscale watch.

Seniors will always outnumber and vote who are we kidding. And we’re gonna do it again.

We got to get this “Have to be competitive” bull crap out of our minds Al. No without killing the Goose we have to set the bar. Seriously why shouldn’t we?

That's the criteria used by airlines in contract negotiations.

We do it on items we want that others have, like pay, other compensation items, benefits and work rules.

At the same time, airlines want those items that benefit them.

The UA CBA set a level for compensation and it also changed the field in benefits and Scope. Those are the items the airline will try to get closer to in terms of overall Labor expenses, as we reached and passed their hourly rate of pay.
