JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

The company obviously has been successful in choosing then dividing based on that economical choice of aligning with the iam minority. In return, the iam isnt in any hurry and has agreed to stand down by refusing even the most basic support letter. Seems to have worked out well for the iam AND us iam members.

Wait a minute here Tim. I thought you said they were already done? You even posted details of what it's going to be? C'mon man, WTF?

Besides didn't you listen to President Peterson defend both your Pension and your Medical costs? I clearly heard him do that. And he sits in that Executive Level room too.

Uh and I'm pretty sure that I read it was the Company who wanted to end both your Medical and Pension? (Please no diatribe again about your Pension) And CB and Rez here both told you the wage offer was pure crap. Less than UAL Ramp.

AA is probably thanking the IAM leadership for helping with the division. When one union pickets for something two unions are striving for, then hell yes, the company will take advantage of that. They clearly see the IAM leadership is not supporting, endorsing or participating in any effort the TWU and it's membership is organizing to get the Association a JCBA and to stop the outsourcing of our jobs. Why would AA not take advantage of that, it's handed to them on a silver platter!

Aside from optics, not sure how they can take advantage of that within the negotiations.

You might want to ask ograc that first...yes optics, a very fine tool.
What does the company gain by "dividing" us.? Do they say "lets create animosity among the groups it's fun to watch" "Maybe there will be a brawl at the end of the beltloader" Come on

Al, I'll try to make it real short and real simple with one example, and then make the point with my previous comment.
You (LUS) has low medical. We (LAA) have high medical. AA wants you (LUS) to go on our (LAA) medical plan. All of us (The Association) should stick together and tell AA no, we go with the low (LUS) medical plan. AA throws out that letter with certain enhancements for We (LAA) and improves our contract much more than yours (LUS). Having already been paying higher (LAA) medical, having inferior items in other areas to you (LUS), AA has just divided us with those enhancements therefore possibly leading us (LAA and majority) voting for (LUS) to be stuck with our (LAA) medical. It should not be that way. They (AA) is pitting us (LAA) against you (LUS). We (The Association) should be on the same page.

Now, as for my comment previously, the IAM leadership is doing a fantastic job in dividing us (LAA) and you (LUS) by not supporting our (LAA) efforts to reach a JCBA that satisfies us all (The Association). Yes, AA sees the division!

Hey look Al, no brawl that I know of, but as far as the "fun to watch comment" I wouldn't doubt it!

I understand what you are saying IAM vs TWU Hubs vs Spoke.AMTs have many divisions too, of course the company is going to exploit them in negotiations. Most don't fall for their BS, the letter surprised me because I thought we were further along. In the end in my opinion I will have my pension you will have a 401 or choice and I will be in AA's medical plan after a year

There's really no prepping for this monster Al. We're going to be hurt very badly here I'm afraid.
Guy on BPEarthwatch was saying don't take lightly describing toe tags and refrigerated trucks for bodies, Now that's a warning.

Don't know yet. Too early to know anything.
I don't think we got paid for Sandy but since there was no gas they did send a truck from upstate and let us fill up our cars. The company paid. Things are a lot different now in the industry much better so.... with the size of this storm I think I would worry about pay at another time

Will you guys get paid if the airport closes for days? United ceo decided to pay 20,000 ua peeps.

That usually depends if the State orders people to stay off the roads and they're closed if not, they expect you to report to work. If you don't report to work then they usually give you a Time Card (TL) which won't go against your attendance but it is unpaid.

I agree Al. I'm more concerned with survival at the moment.
