I was living in mia when Andrew can through, but they did add beefier codes after the fact.

That's how it usually happens. I bet we'll see tougher zoning and building codes in Houston, they virtually have no rules at all.

To all in Fla who will be impacted by Irma ya all be safe. Hopefully itll miss but it does not appear it will. Hope AA will take care of employees. But...i doubt it. Good luck

robbed , here is how AA will take care of them " Even if the airport is closed you are expected to be here.Absences will be excused on a case by case bases by providing a picture of your home blew all to hell"

On the LAA side, there is a difference between flights being cancelled and the actual airport being closed. If the flights are cancelled, everyone is still expected to report to work. If the airport is closed, then you are not to report to work and will likely be paid the hours of the closure for the time they fall within your shift.

How about cancelled flights, airport open but the Governor declares a state of emergency we have that happen up here during a blizzard from time to time

State of emergency has already been declared. The keys are government road closure and/or airport closure which dictate being excused from work with pay.

There are other scenarios that can get you excused but without pay.
