swamt I have always disagreed that we didn't get a vote on whether or not the TWU and IAM should form an Association. So I don't know what more you want out of me?

But this REALLY is not your house here. It's NOT.

I DO SERIOUSLY wish you and the AMFA all the best at SWA. But you just can never return that courtesy because you don't like OUR Unions.
That's true, and we are still waiting for a T/A there is no true unionism anymore it is an illusion, I don't hate our union, I just feel there needs to be honesty with what we can really get in negotiations, and not sit there forever telling the membership , trust us we know what is best for you, we don't trust you to read it, and vote for yourselves, up or down! When you do that; you are protecting your pets because you are afraid the rules will change that will effect your lifestyle you are used to! If a T/ A is a real piece of crap it wouldn't get voted in! Some people at SWA thinks the sun rises and sets in AMFA, to me they aren't much different from any other union that is running their business to try to get more members, more members, more money. They are for profit just like SWA, or American, or the TWU/ IAM is!

Just wondering if you group all union reps in the same category even though you don't know us. I have never said " trust me I know what is best for you" I negotiate on what the members tell me is best for them. And If I choose not to bring something out for a vote, it's because the members in the many break rooms I go in, tell me not to bring that pos out. While I agree with you that unionism isn't what it used to be, and unions are far from perfect. I don't agree with the reasons you state. Do you know the negotiating members on the IAM side?

I think it was at the ORD Town Hall where Isom said there is no problem offering industry leading Vacations and Holidays. Does the NC bring his statements up when you all meet?

I ask because if those issues are settled and we get down to what I think are the major issues or retirement and medical insurance, I will feel like we are nearing the end. Right now I feel like we are stuck in the middle. I realize that Parker and Isom say a lot of things that can be ambiguous, but he was quote clear that Holidays and Vacation are easy.

Surely someone there has Isom's number and can call and say his negotiators are not offering industry leading articles on those issues. If the company negotiators say it will cost in other areas then remind them of what Isom said, or better yet, call Isom and have him remind them.

It is past time to be down to just the big final articles. If all we have to work on is Retirement, Insurance, and pay, maybe it won't take all that long if proposals can be passed back and forth without having to worry about the stuff that the second in command says is easy?

You didn't mention SCOPE (Jobs) or Station Staffing?

Yes, we bring these issues up. And I will tell you although Isom states it's easy on vacations and holidays, they haven't offered industry leading on either one yet. So take that for what it's worth. Believe him if you want. But there is a reason why there is t anything to vote on yet. Actually there are many reasons.

My apologies,
I thought you were one of us.

I understand peoples frustrations with the association. Especially if your a LAA since you guys had the numbers. But on the LUS side, people that are against the association don't consider the other option. It wasn't to stay IAM. And with all do respect to the twu, and I say that because of very good language in your contract: Past practice hasn't been too kind with other groups or unions coming into the twu as far as seniority goes. So the LUS folks even though they THINK they don't like the association. Hasn't considered the other option imo.

Did Isom actually say "industry leading" vacations and holidays? I'm not to sure and wouldn't want to put words in anyone's mouth
