BINGO!

18000 out of 80000 in a majority rule structure will place us in a horrible situation.

For those that cannot add that is less than 25% voting block in the IBT Airline Division.

Now you know why the questions I listed have not been answered.

Your questions haven't been answered because you refuse to ask the right people, your asking people who don't care about those questions so haven't bothered to find out, try asking the people who do care about those question's & do have the answers to them, I can direct you to websites, Hot line number, Informational meeting, even chris Moore the AA Teamster organizer all of those resources could probably answer your questions.
Most of us know very little about AMFA either for the same reason, were more interested in something else..... like Exotic parrots from Austraila etc. B)
We pay the Union to take care of Union issues.

LOL you must have went to a different Cam building come by on day shift when the masses are here & I will take you around & introduce you & you can ask yourself who they support while I'm standing there, As I pointed out I haven't been on afternoon shift for 20 years so don't have a clue what goes on then, My shop hasn't had an afternoon shift for 17 years, I don't know if the CSD shop has an afternoon shift, you can come by on days or just keep believing what you believe, After meeting you I have a very hard time believing that your running around everyday soliciting AMFA cards on your lunch & breaks Buck, the cards won't come unless someone works their ass off to solicit them. B)

You've been here 3 weeks with 600+ posts.

So when do you actually perform your job function for AA?

Just asking?

Your right I was wrong IBT website says current membership 1.4 Million guess I was off by several hundred thousand. http://www.teamster....tent/fast-facts

Some only care about the Airline division & some others only care about the AA Teamster membership, just saying that's what I'm being told, I personally don't care about either but that's just me.

"I agree i'm not a Union Man ..... I'm a Man in a Union there is a huge difference, I'm in a Union because when I hired on they said I had to join, knowing nothing about Union's when I was 23 I said ok whatever,"

You made your choice. Problem is you benefitted from Unionism, but weren't willing to do your part to give back. I know, previous AMFA drive participant, you gave up too easily brother. If you believe 1.4 million will somehow benefit our craft, at what cost? If you did your research, Teamster president throwing the pension for thousands into turmoil or changing of voting procedures to the same type we have with the TWU, you might change your attitude. Over and out.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I did my part as you said previous AMFA drive participant & I pay my dues every month, no hand pay or anything like that I pay the full monty, I've been to 5 or 6 union meetings in the 25 years iv'e been here, I support the Big Splash event every year, yes sir iv'e done my part & now i'm on semi retirement mode, I'm working into it so I don't hurt myself when I actually leave.

So you have an answer as to how every else feels or thinks, but cannot answer simple questions regarding the Teamsters?

You wear the teamsters button, but have no answers.
You have gotten 80-100 others to sign cards.
You dont want to be involved.
You dont want to lead.
You dont really care about Unions, but you are trying to influence other's decisions.
You admit to being Anti-Union but have many opinions the negotiated agreement presented by the Union.

There are several names for the person described above.
And if you ever wonder why you get called those names, look in the mirror.

What a piece of work.

Sometimes I think you are so anti-union that you can see the Teamsters is the wrong answer but you advocate it to make everyone else end up anti-union like yourself.

I like how Rodgers states you should ask and AMFA member about his union. Okay, let's ask the 20,000 that don't have jobs anymore how do they like AMFA.

Well lets see ACA and ATA went out of business, everyone lost their job was not AMFA's fault. Horizon changed to the IBT who promptly lost all there Overhaul to out sourcing and signed a agreement not to say anything about it. Alaska lost 2 lines of Overhaul in 2004 at Oakland AMFA signed a LOA to get a enhanced severence and a years worth of medical coverage if you wanted to leave or you could go on layoff and wait to get your job back and all have been recalled at this moment.

SWA is currently the highest paid Mechanic's of the airlines and is hiring and bringing work in house and just completed a succesful merger with Air Tran where all the teamster Mechanic's became AMFA members. At UAL we have provided the restructuing agreement between UAL and the IAM showing where they not AMFA closed the bases at Indy & OAK {see link below} then the Teamsters & TWU went door to door in Indy,Sfo and any other place Ual had laid off Mechanic's and promised to get there job and pensions back if they would just sign a teamsters card they did and the IBT came in still Indy and OAK are closed and they still have no pensions.

Finally there is NWA they went to the PEB in 2000 and won the single biggest wage increase in decades for all of us, a increase you still enjoy to this day. On Sept 11 2001 a American Tragedy to place on the east coast and NWA saw their chance to attempt to stop our momentum in building a Craft Union for Mechanic's they declared a Force Majure and laid off thousands of NWA Mechanic's. AMFA fought back which led to the standoff that ended in the unsucceful strike in 2004, and like was stated in the video and repeated at the AMFA meeting on the 14th in Tulsa. if you know these guys, they are still the first to pick up the AMFA Banner today if they work for another airline.

So go ahead and spin and lie all you want because when the facts are revealed everyone will see you for what you are a Liar.

The Revolution Continues... AMFA Mechanic's for Mechanic's

Your mother should be proud! Oh, being from Chicago, help me out with this Big Splash thing. Is that when AA elite dump their lavs?(is this where the coy little face should go)?

Umm I agree with all of that except influencing others decisions, I do not believe I can influence others decisions ..... Well maybe I could if I was willing to put some effort into it but i'm not so no It's not likely I will influence anyone's decision & yes their is a word for me it's called being my own Man & doing what "I" want to do as an individual not as part of some grand team or movement, just me as an Individual, believe it or not I did not come to work for AA so that I could be part of some grand movement or a collective group Cult thing, I came here for a job to make money to raise a family.
that's what i'm doing making money, raising a family & trying to enjoy life as best I can in the current situation I find myself in at AA.

Just wait until the billboard on 169 shows up and the 18 wheeler rolls up and down mingo.
You should consider storing some extra underwear at work, so when you piss yourself with excitement you have a change of clothes available.

You might even get the teamsters to have a replacement big splash event with all of their cash and resources if that will cards signed.

Sorry, I just cannot get excited about Big Splash, buttons, lanyards. billboards, and 18 wheeler trucks.
I too go to work for a living, and that crap doesnt buy gas, doesnt buy groceries, doesnt pay utilities, doesnt buy insurance, doesnt even buy a gravesite to prepare for eventual death. In other words, that crap you salivate over is damn worthless to me and my family.

Oh I agree with that it is worthless but is Impressive to watch, everybody likes watching a good dog & pony show & for whatever reason it works on the masses, I don't agree about the Big Splash thing though, I thought doing that for the Members was really cool, I took my son to it every year, I saw more TWU members & there families there than any other Union activity.
Nothing wrong with people getting together & having some fun, that event is the only thing I've seen that the TWU has done right so far.

Well I disagree. I never went to Big Splash and feel like they pissed my dues away for you to enjoy something I have no interest in.

If the TWU had industry leading contracts, were stopping outsourcing, were enforcing the labor agreement, and most improtantly advancing professsional standards in the work force, and then there was time and money for that, then it would be easier to accept. But to fail across the board, and then throw parties is not union activity at all.

If the TWU stopped giving away your pay and benefits, you could afford to buy a season pass to Big Splash and enjoy that with your son every weekend without it coming out of my pocket via my dues money, destruction of my profession, and the rest of the industry AMT's livelyhoods.

And I also disgree, watching someone salivate over glitter and glitz is just a sickening as the TWU Contracts. And they do have something in common. Claming that is impressive to watch, in my opinion equals a rather shallow mind.

Dave i'm not sure what the point of this post was, yes I want great pay & benefits too over everything else but the TWU couldn't get it done regardless of how much money they have we didn't have the right leaders to get it done except for when burchette was President for a while, the money spent on Big Splash wasn't going to get us a good contract & you know it, TWU has plenty of money we just don't have good leaders & Negotiators, so might as well do something better with the money than build Union halls & send the money to the International, as I said Big Splash is the only thing they do right, your buddy Steve Luis didn't get us a good contract what he offered was crap, 50 year olds keep their retiree medical while everyone else loses it, I campaigned hard to make that offer fail & i'm glad it did.
The Members are the problem Dave & AMFA won't fix that, & yes I know i'm part of that problem by not being a Union Man & i'm ok with that.
