Industrial vs. Craft

TWU is getting cheap these days they are cutting services like Big Splash etc. I don't see them giving out T-shirts just to fight the AMFA drive, guess we will soon see which one of us is right on this issue hugh, My guess is No TWU T-shirts will be coming out & the Teamsters T-shirts were planned way before these post's. so that is not a response to these posts.
Teamster T shirts, twu T shirts, whats the difference? Same industrial catch all unions that will do nothing for AA amt's. Your a joke RaptorSpam!

I agree all that stuff matters a lot more than you realize ..... you don't have to like it but it is what it is, couldn't help but notice your talking to the press if exposure doesn't matter with card drives then no point in talking to the press. B)
Exposure will make the difference in this card drive, it made the difference in 2003 when we were in front of the base with AMFA signs & handing out cards at the Turnstiles & passing out literature all the time, Exposure means everything, that's why Reagan became President, & arnold became governor of california, etc. I could go on & on, Exposure means everything !!

What you don't seem to realize is all that exposure is a lie.

During the drive on UAL, we had lanyards, and tshirts, and websites, and buttons, and stickers and weekly gate leaflets.....and after they won?

The silence was louder than 747 at takeoff power.

No democracy,No accountability, all the promises of the campaign.....gone.

You're being bought by the teamsters...and cheaply

Buck, did u hear on the KOTV story that a person from TWU stated that AMFA will never get the votes to oust the TWU ???
I cannot find the exact quote, but I am sure that it happened. That type of rhetoric has been happening for 25 years. The TWU has yet to make a counter move since the AMFA drive started. There will be those who believe that without the other groups that the mechanics cannot decide. One fact stands out. The TWU will do everything within Jim Little's power not to allow a democratic election, The TWU places the fear of it's membership in the forefront. The TWU cannot run on it's record and the TWU non-mechanic groups need the mechanics to maintain their position in there respective professions.

Doesn't matter what it is, bottom line is winning is everything ..... Losing is well Losing, pretty hard to run your agenda if you lose the race & aren't the bargaining agent, Look at Obama he defied all odds to become President, regardless of how he got there he got there & now he gets to do it his way ..... Winning is everything, Losing is nothing.
AMFA has to run a winning campaign then they get to do it their way or the Mechanics way whatever you want to call it but you gotta win first because the winner gets to call the shots not the loser.

Is winning so important to you that you would sacrifice the profession for a shot at change, or even more important following false hope that will never come to be?

Winning ins't everything, effective change, and a reversal of the destruction of the profession is what we are seeking.

Yes, Obama won, but how much "change" that he promised have you seen?

When you Lose you don't get to change anything that is the point, doesn't matter if Obama changed anything he won so he get's to run things not the Loser, You have to win first to make any changes, If you don't think winning matters then fine Lose & see how that works for you. B)

Try to grasp the point.

Of course you have to win to get effective change.

But to jump on some band wagon that is worse than what we have just to seek change is foolish. Going backwards is the wrong direction.

I am of the opinion that the Mechanic and Related group at American Airlines would be better off sticking with the TWU than changing to the Teamsters, and the TWU is the most docile union in the industry. Docile and weak, or so corrupt the Government has to over see your Union. What a choice?

GO AMFA

Aren't there posters all over the base for "Big Splash Day" on July 21st?

They most certainly did - what the hell do you call the ibt "drive"? Do you really believe the teamsters will file for an election? No way will they end up with enough cards, if you know what I mean.

Nobody admitted to it but I believe they're nothing but spoilers - does anyone really believe the twu would walk away from the AA dues income, allowing another "union" to toss them out?

Dan,

Winning is everything? Okay, but what if you have
to lie to win? The teamsters say they are democratic
but you don't get to vote on who heads their Airline
Division. The twu claims they are democratic yet you
don't get to vote on who runs their ATD or international
reps.
When trying to win an election the truth matters. Forget
Obama, I'm talking about people who want to protect
our craft now and in the future.
