If they are On Board, write em up

I have to disagree.

Every airport in the system has some unique gate layout characteristic that makes a hard and fast rule inappropriate. What the norm is in CLT is completely different from DTW or SEA. If you regularly frequented all the different airports like the pilots do, you would have a better understanding of the minor issues involving crew ramp access.

Quick for instance, in LAS we are dropped by van from the hotel on the ramp at our assigned gate. What if the aircraft has not arrived yet? We are on the ramp, no escort, and no airplane, but there we are and we have not broken any rules.

There are a hundred and one reasons why I might be on the ramp without an airplane.
Nic,

I agree with you on this. I just wish we could be dropped of at the aircraft at all airports. I sometimes wonder why I even carry my ID because I'm going to get a grope at all domestic airports. Really sad thing is I can't pick the groper. If I could I would pick a good looking female TSA person to do the groping except I don't think I've seen all that many good looking female TSA agent.

Regards,

Bob

The FAA will differ with you, hope777 provided that information.
700uw,

Oh crap! I did a preflight last month and I think I got 25 ft. and 1.5 inches away from the aircraft. I wonder if they got me on tape? Do you think I have to worry about the men in black showing up in the middle of the night to take me God knows where and beat me until I repent?

Bob

It's those pesky black helicopters Bob that you have to watch out for. The ones you can't hear. Ask Osama bin Laden about them. :D :D

What idiot is going to interfere with a crewmember doing his duties? Let's see what happens to the idiot after his trip to the emergency room to remove a size 11 boot out of his a&$.

(a) General Rule.— An individual who physically assaults or threatens to physically assault a member of the flight crew or cabin crew of a civil aircraft or any other individual on the aircraft, or takes any action that poses an imminent threat to the safety of the aircraft or other individuals on the aircraft is liable to the United States Government for a civil penalty of not more than $25,000.
Snap this,

I was was onboard with you at the beginning of this thread.....until i realized there was no airplane at the gate yet. The rules are fairly specifec (except for LAS) and you are supposed to be within 25 ft. of the aircraft without a SIDA badge. I don't see this as an east vs west thing. I think you got challenged and it hurt your feelings (been there and done that!) I think you should just drop the whole thing and enjoy your weekend. The best remedy for this is for yourto nonrev to DUB on flt 722 on Mon. the 13th and let me buy you a couple (or more) Guinness or whatever your favorite beverage is and trust me the whole issue will be solved.

Bob

Once again, go back and watch the PHX crew news. People are getting pretty fed up with your little job action. Care to tell us why 4 pilots were called in the office last week? I'll tell you why. It was a shot across the bow from the company. Your fake union does not even bother going through the proper process for a legal job action. Rules don't apply to Usapians that is the reason you find yourselves in court.

There are people sympathetic to Usapians slowing the operation down and inconveniencing our paying passengers. If my flight is delayed because of an illegal job action, I am not taking the fall. The reason for my delay goes in the report.

Gamble with your career but leave me out of your ILLEGAL job action.
Snapthis,

I can tell you in all honesty I know nothing about an illegal job action except what my cba told me and that is to NOT participate in an illegal job action. Now if you consider pilots flying the way the training department and the fom dictate a job action then I guess I'm guilty and have been guilty since 1973. I think you are making way too much out of this issue.

Bob

This thread is brought on by someone just stirring up trouble. The ramp people in clt are great. Always have been. I have never experienced anything like
this ever. I just miss chasing Harvey Horn with a 73 when he walked from b to c after passing through the gate for employees over where delta is now. That, was fun
Black Swan,

Do you remember the infamous 2 captains in DCA who all the f/o's used to bid around? All the f/o's who had to fly with the one guy were always trying to blow his toupe off when they became captains. that was before all this security bs so there we many more opportunities.

I agree 100% Bob. The whole "on board" program is a silly little joke being completely ignored by management and pilot alike. That is a condition that USAPA shoul feel at home in. Disrespected, irrelevant, and ignored by any person or organization worth anything.

How are the arrest warrants coming along regarding the data "breech" BTW?

At the bottom of each fo page, after all the numbers was the all important. NO SOB. That pretty much covered it. Of course I ended up with the B quite often. Now flying with you was a pleasure! I even had fun pulling gear for 330 one also back when he checked out on the 1-11

Chairman my a@&. You are just another knucklehead with a morbid curiosity. How can I take you seriously when you have an avatar like that and quotes Malcom X.

Pull your pants up, son, your a&@ is showing.

You know I wanted to ask you what is wrong with a quote from Malcolm X? Do you know anything about him? He is one of my hero's. Why" Because he advocated that blacks seek economic gain as the way to earn political clout. He sought to raise his people up not by lawsuit and legislation but by building up the economic clout to the point where the power structure had to listen because to much money was at stake.

Secondly, The avatar is a picture of an IRA Provo or put a better way an Irish Nationalist facing down the tyranny of Britain as we did when we founded our nation. I was going to send this via PM so as not to hijack the thread but apparently you're to much of a coward to allow PM's so we do it here.

Now run along and fetch Doug a beer would you please?

My feelings are not easily hurt, Captain. Would you have tolerated being treated like this crewmember was? I just got back from a trip. Back to flying on the 13th. Thanks for the offer anyway Bob. Have a good trip.

The more you try to explain your liberal views the more you lose me. You actually support a terrorist organization like the IRA? I remember looking for a trash can at a train station in Liverpool, UK. I was told about the Irish terrorists would hide bombs in waste containers. Guess who their targets were.... Civilians. A terrorist is a terrorist, Muslim or Christian.

I don't associate with people like you in my private life and I don't care to speak with you outside a public forum. From what I have read on these boards I am beginning to think there is a lot more to this East-West divide than just US Airways.
