IBT/UAL contract rejection, what does it mean to us at AA?

Come back when you actually post things that are true.
Union dues money cannot be contributed to a candidate or a party, that illegal.

A simple google search reveals how unions do contribute to the political process and is one of many reasons I spent the last 13 years at AA on hand pay/ agency fee status.

Right !!
And that's how it (can) Start, and grow from there (@ UAL) !

Second,
IF the AMT's @ UAL.....keep up the fight, and don't back down,..........then you guys @ AA and SW need to put Parker and (gary) Kelly on notice that AA and SW are  " N E X T ".   Whether  it be UA, AA or SW,.........boys and girls, You will NEVER again be in a stronger financial posistion, (for your respective companies) than to GO GET    WTF  YOU   $$$  DESERVE   !!

Your respective union leaderships are  NOT the UNION  !                           Y   O   U      A   R   E   !!!!!!!!!!

In life everyone gets whats coming to them, and if to work at UAL, your about to get yours.

Hey clueless

UA approached the IAM to improve QOL issues for their IAM members.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Once again you show your lack of knowledge.

And a 93% rejection is a strong message to the company.

It's called solidarity, something you don't know about since you are part of the IGM crowd.

Always have to admire the comments from the guy who only has 5 years with the company.

I'm truly sorry for all the hardships you've gone through in your vast amount of years with us.

Oh wait a minute?

Excuse me, but isn't a 93% rejection a strong message to the union hacks that brought that back for a vote?
There's an obvious disconnect between the negotiators and the members.

My question is, how disconnected is OUR negotiators with the membership?

I don't believe that the UA mechanics voted on a negotiated tentative agreement; rather, it was the company's final offer, presented to the employees without recommendation, which the membership overwhelmingly rejected. Yes, the vote is a message to the Teamsters and a message to their employer.

Union hacks?

I thought you were educated.

It was a final close out offer from management hacks.

This.

Key word being "and."
Normally I tend to ignore sites like this somewhat because they're usually filled with a lot of fluff and fabrications. But when a membership votes down a TA by 93% I have to say that there's something else going on here. No way can this only be a situation involving just a bad old mean company out to screw people.

A member on the UAL thread said something about Teamcare and the VEBA that has to have some truth to it. With the internet it's very hard to hide information these days, and corrupt people need to get that through their thick sculls.

IMHO, I'm glad that our MX shot that POS down.

Just when I thought that Oscar and his team was going to change things, the more crap remains the same.......

I just hope that Klemm and Co. don't bring us back some stuff like that. if it gives up scope, it will fail!!!

I'll stick with hacks for now.
Final close out offer or not, word on the UA street is Teamcare was the biggest reason it was rejected.
In other words, it was the union trying to shove their Utopian Union run healthcare down the throats of the members, even after they were told by the members they didn't want it.

You see this is all very instructive to us here because there's this little thing called the IAMNPF, that's only about 57% funded on a good day for anyone not yet retired.

The negotiating team knows we don't want it, let's see if they listen to the members, unlike the IBT.

I "MIGHT" want it? But only if it's offered to me as an "individual" CHOICE.

And I would also like to see our US IAM Brothers and Sisters given that same choice as well, quite honestly.
