IBT No Show Forum

I was told it was sent to them on March 20th. The company approved the Denver MX and 401K match.

Are you sure it was sent out, because they said it was not sent, they haven't received anything....But if it was sent, then there is alot of lying going around here from our committee and teamsters.

Absolutely 100% positive it was sent by mid last week. They have recieved it. Are they not sharing this info with the members? I don't know. I don't see why they wouldn't. I know we have all said this before, but you guys all need to flood the ibt, teamsters and your AT nego cmte with E-mails, telephone calls, text messages, and questions about seeing this written offer. The company has finally signed off on the Den maint. and 401K match as well as the head protections for MCO and BWI. If someone is telling you they still don't have anything, then YES, someone is lying to you.

If you guys are not getting straight answers from your union and or committee, then pick up the phone and call or E-mail one of the AMFA nego members or officers from local 11. If you still not sure contact AMFA National. They will talk to you guys and they will not tell you false information. They will talk to you as they do to us. AMFA won't hide anything. I know for a fact several of you have been in steady contact with our National Director Louie Key. You don't have to be an officer from a local or above to contact him with questions. He will take the time to get back to you, if he cannot, he will ask the AMFA National Assistant Director to contact you back. You will not be ignored.

Swadl,
I was asked a question about the 401K and Denver maint stuff in the current offer. Is it contingent on a voted in agreement? And not an Arbitraded decision? I have been asked this by a few different individuals and could not give them a definate yes or no to their question. Thanks in advance.

BTW: If you AT guys contact AMFA in one form or another you might ask them this same question to see what the answer is as well.

AMFA and AT meet on April 5th to negotiate. AT probably will communicate the proposal after this meeting when the documents intent is verified by all parties.

Meet to negotiate? We were told that AMFA's bottom number is 4 yrs. What's to nego? 4 yrs is 4 yrs! If they are trying to get this number lowered, it will not pass on the SWA membership side. What is left to nego? Forgive me for my ignorance, but what intent is suppose to be verified? It's a very simple and self explainable offer. My question now is, has the company (once again) thrown in some added language that needs to be verified, or ironed out? I will be an absolute NO vote if anything comes out lower than the 4 yrs boost and no fences.

When I asked the question about what the meeting on April 5 was about I asked " are they meeting to negotiate or to verify intent?" the answer was "to negotiate". I wouldn't read too much into it because the committee has said this is a bottom line proposal. I expect there to be more discussion on verifying the intent as is standard when a written proposal has not been discussed formally face to face. . No matter how simple the language may seem both parties must understand and agree prior to a TA.

Understand. Thx. I too was under the impression that it was to verify intent and to formally go thru the document for understanding, and answer any questions the AT committee may have.

Though it's been very quietly as of late, here's an update from AMFA National:

AMFA - SWA Seniority List Integration Update
March 30, 2012
This update is brought to you by AMFA National, and is the only official authorized source of
negotiating communications.
On March 20, 2012, the AMFA Proposal was reviewed and found acceptable by Southwest
Airlines. We will be meeting with the IBT, AirTran Mechanics Seniority Committee, and
Southwest Airlines in Dallas on April 5th at 9AM.
The following is summary of our proposal:
AirTran and Southwest Mechanics shall be integrated into a single seniority list on the
basis of their date-of-entry into the classification provided that all Southwest Mechanics
employed by Southwest Airlines on May 2, 2011, shall be placed on the integrated list
based on the crediting of an additional four years of classification seniority to their existing
classification seniority date.
Southwest Airlines shall not involuntarily displace Mechanics from the BWI and MCO
stations until the date of ratification of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
following the next CBA except by using Articles 5 and 10 as required in the Southwest
Mechanics’ CBA with a provision for a reduction of flights. Any reductions at these
stations shall remain subject to Letter of Agreement #1, paragraph 4 of the Southwest
Mechanics’ CBA.
Upon the effective date of the Agreement, the March 29, 2011, Letter of Agreement
between AMFA and Southwest Airlines shall be null and void.
The Seniority and Transition agreements shall live or die together through a vote by the
Unions’ respective members. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be subject to
the dispute resolution procedures provide for under Articles 21 and 22 of the Southwest
Mechanics’ CBA.
AMFA is dedicated to our members and open communication.
Thank you for your support,
Floyd Looney
Assistant National Director

Ok guys, It's been quiet until now. The meeting is still on for tomorrow. I will post anything I hear after the meeting. Anyone have any guesses on what might happen??

The IBT went in swinging for the bleachers.

They struck out.

It is no wonder that the Airtran guys keep talking like they can have it all.
They have been believing the bull from the IBT.
It was made clear today that SWA will not be caving to their ridicules demands.

does anyone have any specifics on the meeting today? Is there going to be another one or will the commitees send it out for a vote? The AMFA website has no updated info and has just a generic version of the offer, compared to whats its been rumoured to include
