IBT No Show Forum

I can assure you, it's not anywhere near as sad as the truth when it comes barreling down.. You can keep all the wise cracks up, they don't bother me, it's actually quite entertaining. It's brings a certain, Neanderthalism to the forum whenever you post.
Go have another drink. I'm sure it will help you think clearer.

You have to keep in mind that tha AT mechs voted overwhelmingly for the protected slots and the LOA, not the 70% or 4 years... They were being feed that protections over the seniority loss and a lot of people were okay with giving some seniority as long as they were protected.. I personally disagreed with it, it was too much of a boost and the LOA's and protected slots defeated the purpose of a union. But that's neither here nor there, we're passed that and I can almost guarantee you that the 4 years won't fly with a lot of AT folks, I'm hearing and seeing a lot more no votes than before so if it were to get voted on then it would definitely not be overwhelming on either direction...

Understand. Just passing on some shop talk. So far only 2 guys have said they would entertain a lower number somewhere between 3 and 4. Most everyone else is saying that the 4 yrs is their minimum. Now, as far as the fences. AMFA has been told by a large number of the membership that the fences will not fly. I know I have said something before about temp fences, but I don't think they will fly either.

Sorry for my rant above, but I in no way believe the teamsters have to "step away" until mid March to deal with the election at Horizon. I honestly think that is B.S. excuse just to stall or delay a little longer. You don't hear AMFA calling for a time-out to deal with the election at Horizon. IBT is large enough to handle both at the same time. If they would continue to press fwd we could quite possibly have something to vote on by mid March. Not just getting back to us, then nego until Apr 1 then voting for 30 days after that having the vote count by May 1st. Don't think this fits SWA's timeline. AMFA send in the final offer and let's move forward. The company has stated if there was any stalling they would support us moving fwd especially if the teamsters pulled their political agenda, which is what this appears to be.

AMFA nego team and AT nego team: Send it out to the members for a vote, let the members deside their fate not the soon to be gone ibt.
I'm quite sure the company would also be in support of a final offer being sent over. They are all for speeding this up. Send it AMFA!!

Ouch, that almost hurt. But really, we're supposed to believe what you predict even though it flys in the face of what GK has publically stated in a press release? You're living in a dreamland. It sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that Southwest needs the 717's even though GK says we don't. Others from the inside post the timeline for the AT conversions is being moved up and you can't accept that either. Time to face reality.

I far from believe that the 717's are here to stay.. I said that from day one, they are obviously not a fit for the SWA plan seeing as they've eliminated so many 717 routes already. So, I don't know where you got the idea that I was going against what GK said other than the "we'll pay for them and not fly them" idea. I highly doubt SWA got to where it's at by NOT flying airplanes, especially if they're profitable and not on such a strenuous MX inspection internal like the -300's are... You know, the 500 hour crowns and re-skin. That's rough!! Never the less, the schedule for converting A/C's is on SWAlife so you can look for yourself where I did the conversion math. It's not denial by any means, it's just today's hard fact that I base it off of..

On a side note, you DAL guys have some pretty good supervisors over there. A couple of guys, Chris and i can't remember the other ones name, are in MCO right now kinda overseeing our SOC transition which has gone pretty smooth I might say, The paperwork and logbook is actually pretty easy, but's it's a shame that you're eliminating the Land Verify RTS and the auto land RTS from the system as you convert. They are very good and useful systems, but instead, SWA has opted for the HGS system and downgrade the fleet from Autoland to CAT III status. All well, just less work for me I suppose.

I see you are trying to bolster your self esteem by displaying your vast knowledge and insight. When I read your posts, I feel like I'm conversing with a punk teenager, or drunk teenager.

You're fairly accurate in your assessment of me except it's not for the benefit of my self esteem, seeing as my vast knowledge is limited to what I know now and have read and seen to date, therefor only benefit from my posts are to those who are unknowing of current situations but have now been brought to light. But even if I weren't limited to the boundaries of present informational systems that even a 10 yr old can asses as interpret, by means of 3rd grade simple math and reading skills, then I would still not see the need to attempt as "bolster" my self-esteem because that would mean that I'd know what the future holds, rather than playing the probability, and wouldn't bother meddling with you, a simple peon of the system who's strongest voice appears over an Internet forum. I can almost gaurantee that a drunk teenager or 'punk' would be a more useful terminology to describe me when I actually was a drunk teenager or 'punk'. Now, it's not so clever...

Shall we continue with the petty game we've got going on or are you really going to start hurting my feelings on the next post you make :)

So what do "asses" have to do with anything?

Huhhhh?

I don't see a Teenage attitude, more of an adult. When I read yours, it is like a teenager responding back like you didn't get the oreo, displaying nothing but bitterness. His Post was from his Heart and what he has seen and heard, not from the hip. Why do you continue? I was in MCO last night and had the chance to meet some of the SWA folks and everyone got along just fine. No attitudes of who is better or what anyone deserves. We all looked at what we have to do to combine our operations in a professional manner, not divide them! The sooner everyone gets off their High Horse and remembers we have a job to do, the better. That goes for both sides, SWA & AT!

I guess you're his younger brother?

Both sides need to calm down and file for the Jerry Springer Show! At least were acting like one family. A disfunctional one, but one none the less.

And when this does happen, then the ibt can say "we didn't file for arbitration, the company (SWA) did" and try to wash their hands of it.
You know what? I'm tired of this hee hawing around. Tired of waiting on the ibt to make a decision rather than to allow or not allow further nego with the AT comte. They have the current offer from AMFA. As I have stated before, the 4 years boost is my lowest I will go, as far as I am concerned, as well as many others. Keep in mind that this was the minimum increase of boost that the AT guys accepted overwhelmingly by over 80%. With the recent stalling tactics by the ibt, I honestly think it's time to send across the table the final, best, and last offer. Put the ball in their hands. Force them to make the decision. I am sick and tired of being nice, it's time to act AMFA, push fwd with a last and final offer. If it goes to arbitration, then it goes to arbitration. I know we all don't really want that to happen, but it is what it is, with the ibt playing their games. The majority of the membership has said they will not accept anything less than the current 4 yrs being offered. It's time to send the final offer for a vote. Let's keep moving fwd. not stalling out like the ibt wants to happen.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
Why worry about the time frame, we're getting nothing out of this so just sit back and relax. AT on the other hand should be the ones pushing. They dont get the pay and bennies till a deal is done and a single contract is signed. If anything the IBT is screwing there own guys (shocking), plus the longer it drags out the more dues money the ibt drags out of there people. Only to dump them in the end anyway. Good choice AT clowns.

Man, you guys are clever with the insults, I'm glad to see the real adults come out here. Your true colors glimmering in the shadows of a failing SLI... And way to stay on point instead of keeping your focus on me. I wasn't surprised at lineguys reaction on the least, disappointed yes, seeing as you're supposed to be representing the superior airline that purchased a smaller airline. At least, that's how you claim it to be, but yet, you guys are sounding off like the children of the bunch, so my rebuttal stops here because I only want to speak to the grown ups and not the children of the corn types..

BTW, lineguy, was that a little too much for you to comprehend as well?? I've tried to dumb it down for you as much as I could so you don't have to question with a reply of "huhhhhh?????". Actually, don't even bother responding to my question, because your response will serve no beneficial purpose on this forum what so ever.

@grmach1; I'm typing from my iPhone so my autocorrect sometime eludes my intentional responses with unintentional statements, words or phrases at times, but these neither here not there because I should've spelt it correctly from the beginning...

@squidly, is that your official coming out of the closet post?? If your interested, I know a few stock clerks that will probably show you a good time, or so I've heard...

Anyways, continuing on to a subject that actually matters, and no worries, regardless of whatever insult or prod these guys bring forward, I'm not replying to them, I'm done toying with them, any thing of relevance to update us on??

It was long winded gibberish and babbling about to me, but you go ahead and have the last word.

I understand what you are saying. Just tired of the ibt trying to show-boat for the AT guys, when in fact, they are trying to give payback to the SWA/AMFA mechanics for their removal from SWA. I still say AMFA needs to send in the final offer now...
