IBT No Show Forum

Managers walking around telling mechanics they should vote yes. The company's electronic bulliten boards continually broadcasting propaganda on why we should vote yes. There ought to be a law against this. If I wasn't already a NO vote, I would be now.

FadeCfault-- do you know what the FA agreement was? I do and just so you know if your Comte come across with the offer of a 2.5 year bump in our(SWA) seniority it will surily get shot down and would not even come up for a vote. I'm not trying to offend you in any way but I can guarantee that offer will get laughed at and slid right back. Our SWA FAs sold out there junior FAs. Let's just keep the TA and either remove or date stamp articles 9&10. Or a strait 30% cut or a 2 for 3. When this current TA gets shot down we ALL need to contact our Comte members and let them know what we want.

wow,, so much disagreement so late in the game... how is this SLI not going to arbirtration???

What needs to be done so late in this game to avoid Arbitration??? it seems farther away now than it was 4 months ago,, just my take,,,
There will be no further negotiations and it will go to arbitration.

AMFA, IBT, SWA and AT mechanics really fuc#ed up on this one... SWA mechanics not willing to budge, AT mechanics fighting for the little seniority we have. Allowing a 3rd party to try figure this out for us, SWA management. Everyone pointing fingers at everyone... If I didn't know better, I'd think we were our very own government, stubborn as hell and no one wants to give in.. If this goes bitter and south, we'll have no one else to blame ourselves!! SWA and AT mechanics!!

When this all said and done, are we going to be a unified union?? Because, not to sounds corny yet again, we will all need to stick together and be on the same page if we're ever faced with what AA mechanics are faced with today.

Amen brother,, you are Correct,, we got screwed,, but just to be clear here, it was the junior FA's that did it to themselves, I guarantee very very few 12 year+ FA's voted yes. Do you know how many hours I spent trying to tell the junior FA's to STOP listening to all the Arbitration threats and vote NO... well we got the answer on how many listened to the logic..

It is a crying shame but it is the way it is, this deal doesnt impact my life ONE ounce and I found it funny that I was the one screaming for them to wake up...Nope the junior FA's looked at 2.5 years and screwed themselves, maybe its because I had to work all these years to get what we got, they only had to work 3-5 years and knew nothing about what it took to get to this point. I cant say for sure but the AT fa's WON a lottery and we original SWA FA's will be paying that lottery debt off for the rest of our lifes

I dont know but it will haunt our Junior FA's the rest of their carreers,, the amount of mauling AT got away with is unprecidented... So hang in there guys,, If the AT mechs try to pull that 2.5 crap with you guys,, go to arbitration.... Lets stop the greed and bleeding, hope you guys walk away with a sniff of fairness...

You're scaring us George!
It is so pitiful the way you all go on and on about how after we vote "no" somehow everything is going to be fixed and the SLI will be just as you want it. You make it sound so easy as if you have the key to make this deal go through. It will go to arbitration and the fences will go away, which should be a positive, and the SLI will be DOH or something only marginally better. Keep on posting all your great ideas for the negotiations and all your friends here in never never land because it's fun to pretend.

What you just predicted would be better than what is currently being voted on, so just vote NO.

I tell you what, we just had your MPM, policies and paperwork training, and now I'm far less inclined to give up so much seniority so easily.... EVERYTHING is changing for the AT group and now we have to deal with even more paperwork because of wizard and the ridiculous way SWA has their paperwork setup. There's a huge room for error in the way you guys do things.. I'm surprised you don't have many more paperwork issues with the LT TLD and that SAM 943... I get the work around though, writing up an LT TLD instead of on a non-routine, avoid the SAM-943 altogether.

I can't wait until TRAX is fully integrated and maybe a better log book is put out there. The SWA mechs haven't seen all the changes yet but I heard that its not that big a deal for y'all, but for the AT mechs, it's a completely different workflow!! All I can say is that SWA buying AT was probably a smarter move for the IT side of the deal rather than anything else. The methodology behind your paperwork feels almost prehistoric, and now we have to deal with it in a couple of weeks too!! They're implementing the MPM guidelines to our GMM on the 20th of this month.

That is exactly why we complain about not getting anything out of this integration! The paperwork and mpm were not always this difficult believe me but ever since our management team got in trouble for missed inspections they have been making our job harder and harder. Welcome to the mine field as we call it. The mpm, talk about a moving target! Constantly changing and never for the better. The log page is the only safe way to defer something as you can tell.

AVTECH04- I don't see how you giving up some seniority has anything to do with our paperwork procedures. And to tell you my opinion on our paperwork procedures, it's not as bad as it sounds it's pretty strait fwd and simple. We don't even input any of the work accomplished into the computer. And as I'm sure you ate aware we will be TRAX real soon, and it will be us (SWA) having to make the change and learn the new procedures.

I thought the same thing. They all know they are going to have to deal with new paperwork, proceedures and policys. It just comes with the change. It's the same as starting at a new company, your gonna have to learn the way they do their paperwork and stuff. This comment about not willing "anymore" to give up senority b/c of having to learn our paperwork is more than likely just an excuss for, opps, maybe I screwed up earlier when I offered some senority and now we may have a possibility of this being part of the next offer coming. I think they now see it as more probable of coming to reality, at least a better chance now.

As already stated; your senerio above is better than current offer. No we are not saying that the new offers will be fixed the exact we we all want. You and I both know that never happens. We are all voting no because we do not agree with the current offer. We hope the groups can get back to the table, do some adjustments, now that the company knows what it will take, apply these changes and quickly send out for a vote. If something is not re-nego and we have to goto arbitration then so be it. As you have stated the fences go away, so what if they get DOH, we keep our March 2011 LOA in tact, and para 9 & 10 also go bye-bye. Also if all this goes to arbitration, let's not forget about the LOA's, these to will be put on hold if they are voted down as well. We have nothing to lose, because we are gaining nothing, at least not like the AT guys are. BTW: the LOA to include the same protections for the AT stations as we currently have at all our stations will also go bye-bye. When the companies propaganda to push a yes vote so hard onto the employees that they too started "screaming" arbitration like the teamsters were, it was a fact that their push actually gained a termendous amount of no votes that were previously yes votes. It actually started to scare allot them as to what is really the companies intensions. Now that they all see there is a date to get back to the table (as AMFA National, the company, and our union have stated) really makes the employees wonder why the company was pushing so hard. This is why the companies "road shows" (plural) was dubbed "no shows" it changed alot of votes.
Glad to see you are calling the fences coming down a positive, with that said, why in the world would someone vote for something they don't want-that is way beyond me. I am not slamming you in any way for voting yes, I am not understanding why anyone would vote something in that they don't want.
