IBT No Show Forum

I don't care either way you vote, just stop bashing AT people like they're less than any of you!! WE ALL WORK for the airline industry. Maybe AT got a family off welfare, Great!!! that's one less family that the working class has to support and maybe they'll make it on their own and w/o OUR tax dollars... Lets all grow up a bit and at least act like decent mature adults here.

Wow the thread with aimless IBT bashing by some loony amfa mechanic with too much time on his hands got deleted. Such a loss.

Got a good laugh at those SWA mech's voting no supposedly because we won't be "one unified group". You're just jealous you won't get anything out of this deal.
I think we all know you don't give a rats ass about the AT mech's as long as you get something.

What I don't understand is why has\is the AMFA committee saying it is a SWA (company) agreement? The company was there but the committees (both) were also there. The company, as I understand it, was acting as a mediator after countless attacks from AMFA to AT when proposals were made. The typical response from AMFA was "WE (the mechanics at SWA) did not want this buy out,we didn't want any of AT employes,we want nothing to do to with them and we ,as a committee will do anything to make sure it never happens and that we will do anything to make sure it does not pass.

I am not saying this to make anyone mad. Just ask your committee members or the company members who where their. If this is truly the feeling of the mechanics,we are all in trouble. Sadly, it was the sentiment of the AMFA committee.

It appears to me, they agreed to the agreement but now refuse to stand up for what they agreed to(TA'ing the agreement). This may speak a great deal towards the character of the AMFA committee,I hope I am wrong, but actions speak more than mere words.

I hope we vote this in, if not,a Arbitrator will decide all of our fates and not ourselves. No one will be happy with his/her decision, especially SWA mechanics, because you are really getting a sweet deal.

Again, I am not trying to pick a fight, I simple want to know why this type attitude was taken and try and figure out if this is the true feelings of SWA mechanics.

Not sure what your talking about? I get something out of this deal!! I get you and many more below ME!!!

Pardon me Sir but I find your post rather offensive and lacking taste. We are adults here (most) and trashing others does not accomplish anything positive. Save that garbage for your Break room in MCO. SWA mechs can say what they want if they feel they are getting the shaft. I don't think they are but that is my opinion. Let them bash away and by you not returning fire, shows you have integrity by not taking the bait. I'm actually glad the previous thread was removed in hopes we would all have a fresh start in discussing ideas and leaving out the bashing. AT Mechs should be proud of what they have accomplished and so should the SWA guys. Combined, the two groups can become one unified force if we all sit back, take a few deep breaths, agree on principle and realize, this is our career, livelihood, support for our families, etc. Carry on.... BTW, I work for AT too!
Cheers, QA

Regardless of the negative sentiments posted on here, the company wants to keep our work group divided so we will be weak. Divide and conquer method. I find it odd that a company that promotes a culture of family and Luv would propose an agreement that actually separates, divides and isolates. There has to be an ulterior motive here. Yes, this seniority integration offer is the brainchild of Southwest management and their attorneys.

AT96--- the AMFA Comte was asked by the company to put there perposal out to the membership for vote even tho the AMFA Comte didn't want to they did to pease the company. This is a company(SWA) perposal and management has even said it was. what our members want from what I'm being told is a cut in seniority with no fences. Your AT Comte/IBT said they will not intertain any cut in seniority except 10%. And this is fact as I was at that meeting.AT/IBT Comte said they would entertain a raise in our seniority and the AMFA Comte said ok we will go with that route. As meetings went on both sides were being unrealistic and non coorpertive with another. So the company stepped in and made this TA up from info on both sides. From all the mechanics iv talked to they like the TA except the fencing. They would be ok with the fencing if it had a time stamp/experation date one it. And I'm sure you or some of your coworkers know SWA mechanics and believe me we are not bad people and are no different that y'all! We want this done and over with just as much as I'm sure AT mechanics do. Our Comte will talk to your Comte later this month and we need to all press the Comte to go with a strait reduction of say 30% with no fences or have a date stamp on it or have same TA with the same date stamp!

Well, I am confused. Is this a Company proposal, an AMFA proposal, or an AMFA sanctioned company proposal.
If you parrot what the company says, why have a Union?

It's basically an AMFA sanctioned company perposal. The company asked AMFA Comte to put this out for a vote. It's actually not a bad perposal except for the fences. If it had no fences or a date stamp I would vote yes on it.

SWAdl, Your right, the fences (para 9 and10) was the #1 reason for this thing not passing. Who knows how the new offer will look or what will in fact get rearranged is still TBD.

I like your optimism and I truly hope there is another offer but, I just don't see it happening outside an arbitration.

Would that 30% reduction apply to AT mechanics in all stations for all purposes excercising seniority? If you could get them to agree to that it would be 20% more than they had ever offered "officially". The first meeting between AMFA and AT they offered a 25% reduction and when their members found out they had to retract it and said they could only go 10%. Then they came back at the next session and said they were no longer authorized to offer or except any reduction in their seniority.

The AT mechanics iv actually talked to said they would take a hit between 35-40%, the AT guys on this forum say they would be willing to take a 30% hit. I of course would prefer the larger hit on there seniority for our junior mechanics but I'd also be happy with a strait 30% hit. This is my thoughts and the thoughts of other mechanics iv talked to.

If you were the true union supporter you say you are then you would be taking the committee's advice and voting no on the integration proposal.
