To all the Airtran mechanics posting, I say this. Enough. You sound pathetic. Stop posting and talking about how we all hope this or that, we're not trying to insult or upset, so glad the talking continues-BLAB BLAH BLAH. Stop. You gave up your seniority and requested some temporary protection- and it was turned down. The time for talking is over. The entitlement and arrogance of that group is clear. Have some pride, and take some courage in the fact that you've already overcome lousy situations like this before-you will make it through this as well. Stop posting.

I tried to warn everyone on here this was about to happen but everyone hat ignored it and kept talking about a percentage

would you please elaborate on your knowledge, we are not quite understanding what you mean by 20 days, or company file. we understand that the union was told by the company what they wanted, but that every day, rank and file members were never polled, and now we have the opportunity to discuss among ourselves as peers and we are trying to push out something that does not come close to being equitable to all parties. we are all in this together, lets talk it out. i want to know what they want, what they could live with, and i think they want to know the same of us. i think we should all be protected, and all should get a pay raise, and never have to worry about reductions of force or station closings. i don't think it will happen....but i would like to see it!

well, i like your spirit and pride, but do you really not want to talk as one mechanic to another? So what do you hope to accomplish by not talking?

Why do you think everyone kept talking percentage? Because we kept hearing about adding years. We did not ignore anything.

I am.not trying to be a smart ass or insult you.

No insult taken. I guess just out of the loop because I dont remember ever being asked what I wanted in this process. Not sure if I missed meetings asking what we wanted or a mail out asking me what I wanted. Did I miss all that?

I just need to say to all that no negotiations are going on on these forums no matter what anyone thinks.
I was made clear to me that our nego team is doing what they think is best.
Not what is posted here.
So we can talk all day and night here but we are not at the table.

Point taken on the negotiations. But at some point I think the membership needs to be asked what they think is best for them.

No polling, no big meetings just talk on the floor at the beginning of all this.
I never thought it would get as out of hand as it did.
But here we are.
One step away from arbitration unless those at the table can find common ground very very soon.

Very true. I hope they can do that.

I can hardly wait to meet you.
You will fit in fine.

I heard today that if we can come to an agreement on seniority integration that the company wants to start contract ratification early.

Hypothetically speaking: Let's say this does go to arbitration. AT gets DOH, we keep our AMFA LOA. All our mechanics on the seniority list as of Jan 1 2011, cannot get displaced from their station, shift, bid location or classification by any AT mechanics. That is pretty good protection for our junior guys. Plus we can bid into AT stations as our seniority will allow. I'm kinda liking the sound of that. Arbitration? Bring it on!
