However the AMFA took vote from membership, and guess what, it was voted to goto the table as they did.
Just curious as to when, where and how this vote took place?

I can only speak about DAL. Once the Comte new they were going to possibly be able to send an offer to the AT guys, they pulled an emediate union meeting. This meeting took place in a break room, both day shift and eve shift was present. Mechanics were flowing outside the room and down the hall way. They briefed everyone on what was going on up to present day of meeting. They then ran a vote on what the membership was willing to let them go back to the table with and send back to th AT mechanics. Not one mechanic aposed the vote, it was unnaminous. How the other stations were done by their ALR's and nego team is beyond me. But all the nego team was on the same page once they done the meetings. The following day they took the offer to the table and presented it. Hope this answers your question. It was done quick, but it was done once they found out that they would be able to put an offer out there. I know, some people were on their days off ect. But It had to be done prior to the following morning. Hey, at least they were able to do what they did rather than going at it without the memberships blessing...Just curious as to when, where and how this vote took place?
Thx for your input. We know your not nego that's your number, no prob. I can tell you the 2.5 won't work do to reasons I cannot post. I honestly think a vote on 2.5 would end up going to arbitration just my own opinion and from what I heard from the members.I'm pretty good at math, I'll respond to this one. Not to say that I'm for arbitration, I only hope we can come to an agreement prior to but let me do the math for you... The first conversion went in on Feb 20th, comes out April 15, that's about 55 days an airplane and there will be 2 lines running. So, 55 days, by 2 lines means about 1 airplane every month, average, on the 737's that are domestic birds. AT has 57 737's and, I believe approx, 42 will be converted until the SWA implements an international route. So, unless PAE opens another line or gets them done sooner, it's about 42 months before the domestic 737's are all converted.... Not to mention the international 737's or the 717's..
Now being realistic, outside of hard numbers, I think PAE can convert the planes faster than 55 days. So let's say 2 lines, each done in 45 days, your looking at 4 airplanes in 3 months, all ofcourse being optimistic, your looking at roughly 40 months to complete the AT domestic birds alone.. Again, that's if they don't add another line or get them done even faster.
I personally am not worried about the conversion time table. And as far as working on SWA colored A/C, well I can't comment. I know what the CBA says and I know what the work around is so I won't put that out there, but hopefully it won't come to that and we can agree on something and get it to pass... Again, I'm not a fan of hard number years whether it be a boost or loss, but definitly not a fan on 4 years... AT has a lot of junior mechanics also, a lot more than SWA, and they are already being placed on the bottom of a combined list even if this went DOH, so to add more to the bottom by giving a 825% increases to a mechanic hired right before date of closing, or May 1, 2011 is unacceptable!!
Seriously, the AT side is vividly against this, more responsive than the last agreement. I'm honestly shocked and almost proud that they are so productively active with offers this time. A lot are coming together like never before and agreeing with eachother. That being said, I think a 2.5 year increase would pass, even though I'm still against a solid year increase.
Keep in mind, I'm not negotiating here, I'm just giving my opinion to the reaction I saw since the offer and the things that I heard.
Glad you piped in WN. He's correct. They would not release the numbers until after it was passed to the AT guys. We voted on the concept to be delivered...As to the vote.
We had a joint meeting of all day and eve mechanics on duty Wednesday.
By a show of hands to support the proposal concept with no specific number.
It passed by an overwellming margin to support our Dallas reps.
I don't know if other stations polled their mechanics but I bet they all heard what was acceptable to those who spoke up.
Sorry answered above. I type slow.

The meeting in Dallas was an informational meeting only. Why are we in such a big hurry to get this done so fast? So fast in fact, that you only included the Dal hanger mechanics in this show of hands. Does the line not count in this union? We need to have at least a formal meeting between the mechanics and not a last second throw together show of hands that doesnt even include all the mechics at Dal, or any other mechanics period. Did the guys in Baltimore get a say in this? How about St Louis? Did they get a chance to show the hands? Come on get this crap together!!
By the way, I agree with AvTech04 on the percentages thing. I think that would be a much better way to go.
These reps better figure out in a hurry that it will take more than Dal Hangar to pass this next deal. I agree percentage is the way to go.Why are we in such a big hurry to get this done so fast? The Dallas hanger didn't come up with this proposal. These reps better figure out in a hurry that it will take more than Dal Hangar to pass this next deal. I agree percentage is the way to go.
The meeting in Dallas was an informational meeting only.
The decision to offer a proposal in years was already decided by the committee on a conference call.
We only were asked if we agreed with this type of proposal.
We didn't influence it.
However, we did all agree.
Yes , only 20 days after someone files for it.Well I guess what im getting at is, it would have been nice to include everyone in Dallas on even an informational meeting. Not just the membership that is easily accessible. We wonder why its hard to get united when we have a meeting that doesnt even include the whole station were the meeting is being held at. Informational or not. Just not happy that certain areas of Dallas seem to be not included more often than not. Ok done with my rant.
WNMECH, are you saying we only have 20 days to get this thing done before arbitration?
