Ifs something in the ball park of 1-3 years or 25-40% increase to amfa side it has a chance.

My guess is it will be a 25-30% cut in AT mechanic seniority.with maybe a 3-5 year fence. And no LOAs for either side.

Keeping my fingers crossed. My worry is three of our best committee members are not there today. Two by Don Toney's doing the other schedule problems.I believe those there will bring back a accurate representation of the meeting, however please post the presentation on this forum, just in case local 528 tries to censor. God's speed. I'm at work and got to go now. Keep us informed please.

Company has notified both sides they are prepared to file for arbitration and would like for the parties to continue to seek a resolution in the interim.

That was expected. They have been pushing all along, that's why we had the last deal from them.

Swadl, Don,t worry yourself about xUT. From his post, he,s just anti AMFA.

That's your opinion. I have stated my involvement with AMFA at UAL previously.
I just do not respect the SWA version of AMFA.
Most of my negativity came directly from your posts.
Hazing of new hires, my way or the highway threats of integration with AT (which proved true).
Is this a valid LOA? I can't find it on AMFA11.org.

Dear Southwest AMFA Members:

Attached please find a Letter of Agreement (LOA) recently negotiated between AMFA and the
Company, which is in response to AMFA’s demand that the Company recognize the contribution
of AMFA-represented employees to Southwest’s success and the need for employment stability.
The LOA has been unanimously endorsed by the AMFA-Southwest Negotiating Committee and
will only take effect upon completion of the membership ratification process.

The LOA provides that:

No AMFA-represented employee on the seniority list as of January 1, 2011, will be
involuntarily displaced from his current station, bid location, shift or classification,
other than by another employee on the seniority list on that date pursuant to the CBA;and that, No AMFA-represented employee on the seniority list as of January 1, 2011, will be subject to either a furlough or a station-specific reduction in headcount prior to any
employee not on the seniority list as of January 1, 2011.

These protections extend to all AMFA-represented classifications at Southwest.
We encourage you to read the LOA, contact your local representatives with any questions, and
assist us with the speedy ratification of this important agreement.

Sincerely,

The AMFA Southwest Seniority Integration Committee

AMFA made a verbal conceptual proposal to the AT committee members in attendance. The conceptual proposal was asking for a fixed number of years to be added to the SWA mexhanic's seniority. The number I was told was 4 years. No fences no protected slots. Also the AMFA Protection LOA would be removed. AT had no official response and would need to bring back the concept for approval from IBT before being able to determine if further discussions on specifics can take place. Everyone seemed optimistic and was looking forward to more discussions. Company gave AMFA and AT a process agreement for arbitration. Company says they will file for arbitration within a short time frame if either party seems to not move discussions along in a timely manner, not as a threat but in the spirit of reaching a final resolution. Company explained even if they file for arbitration they will facilitate both parties in reaching a resolution in the interim.
