AVTech04- I personally think y'all should keep your employee number and just add an AT in front of the number. That way no number could ever match up.

Here's what I have heard about the employee numbers. I was told they were giving the AT guys 100,000 and above for employee numbers. If you were to look at the mechanics senority list, we have some recently newly hired mechanics. Some were givin as high of a number as 102,7xx with a huge gap in numbers missing. Could it be that the company is in fact holding the lower 6 digit numbers for AT.
I would rather keep my original employee number too.
Again I was told this awhile back and it was rumored, I just find the large gap in the employee numbers on senority list is interesting.

As far as going back to the table and removing the LOA's is that referring to and including all LOA's made after buyout announcement?

It was posted on swalife what they are exactly going to do, it was about 2 months ago it was posted. Swalife said that AirTran employees will get an unused and unissued employee number that falls within two years of their AirTran hire date.

It's referring to removing par 9&10. And our own Protection LOA that we have. That prevents an arbitrator from making a decision.

Also with the giving up seniority issue how about airtran mechs just drop after the last swa A&P hired for that year

This is pretty much what our FA union told us as well, the company will be using the fired/quit/retired emp#'s as close to that ATpersons date as possible, they assured us that they would be able to do that. AT has approx 2300 FA's so the new #s would be handed out when they finished the 10 day SMT(special merger training).

Now of course many people asked, oohhh what if that original person comes back and wants their original number back? A person who has left in good standing and comes back has lost rights to their old number and will be issued a new #, thats what I heard and as far as I am concerned is a Rumor until the AT person has a number on a badge.

Everyone(100% Kev) I have talked to says they do not want to give up their emp#, its kinda funny how a # can become part of your identity but it does.

I believe it.

I absolutely *hated* giving up my NW number for a new one, for many of the same reasons listed here. I've yet to meet anyone that feels different.

Company was notified by the IBT that they would not be attending the meeting on Feb 23. By IBT I mean the International Teamsters, attorney, airline division reps. Only the ATL local reps will attend and are only staying for a couple of hours and flying back same day. Arbitration then decertification of IBT, as the IBT has said all along. If the decertification happens before arbitration we may have a small window to settle with our newly acquired AMFA brothers before the hearing. Although, I was also told that the Company may file for arbitration which at this point sounds like they have a right to.

I can think of a plan B, plan C and even a nuclear option to change your senario.
Question is are you still so married to the company proposal that you have given up the fight and are just waiting for arbitration?
Or are our elected leaders preparing for the real battle ahead?

Thanks for the info Jack.

I just hope we don't use any of the lame arguments I am reading on this blog in arbitration. Also I hope you don't think we should go after the AT seniority as agressively once they become AMFA. If they become AMFA before arbitration it should be straight DOH no fences.

Thanks for the info Jack.
Hey Lineguy, If you are a DAL mechanic and work the line, were you one of the yellow dog scabs that signed the petition letter to give away fueling and push back work to the Company about 3-4 years ago. Yeah, you probably are.
