b737200 I feel your pain. I agree with what you are saying. We must put our differences to the side. The only problem is until we pull together and stand up against the company and the IAM, we will never be together! The company has always tried to separate the employees. The sad thing is the IAM and let’s not forget ALPA have taken that responsibility from the company! They have hurt the groups more than the company ever could. They have separated the groups by allowing the company to dictate to them instead of standing up for the memberships! I am sorry that I am so upset, but everyday I think about our group and I question where it all went wrong? The only conclusion is that the company has lobbied harder then the people that are supposed to speak for the weak! We have to stand up with one loud voice and demand respect. I hope we can get this done and it may wake up the IAM. Maybe they will want to do better for their other groups! It can't get much worst for them considering the fact they are loosing ground constantly in the aviation industry!

Exactly. over 76,000.00 IAM members lost in the last 5 years..

Guess if you not united or m/r you really don't mean much to them... OH well time to move on down the road..
 
TIME TO SEE HOW BAD CLT REALLY WANTS A CHANGE! THE IBEW HAS BEEN WELL RECIEVED AND PEOPLE ARE INDEED ASKING QUESTIONS! I CAN ONLY HOPE THEY DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS THAN THEY DESERVE!
 
ORIOLEMAN THOSE NUMBERS ARE MADE UP OF A GOOD NUMBER OF AIRLINE EMPLOYEES ALSO. THEY HAVE BEEN ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL FOR MANY MORE YEARS THAN JUST THE YEARS USAIRWAYS F/S HAVE WITH THEM! GOOD LUCK IN THE FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO SURVIVE IN THIS BIG BUSINESS WORLD!

AN UPDATE. Things are moving forward in all of the cities the IBEW has targeted so far. The next step is to get clt on board. tomorrow will be a big day in clt. The meeting that is scheduled in clt will give everyone in clt a chance to ask questions. The IBEW had a very positive response from the members in clt when they were there a few weeks backs. Unfortunately it bothered the local IAM leaders that they were there, and they tried to resort to cheap tactics. First by informing the police that the IBEW reps were at the bus stops talking with employees. When that was ineffective they resorted to informing management. A shift manager approached the reps and asked them not to talk to employees or get cards signed. I don't like slinging mud but THAT IS WEAK. I have said this before, NO LOCAL UNION LEADER SHOULD FEAR NEW REPRESENTATION. If they are good leaders, the members will vote to keep them in power. After all the IAM is flawed at the district and international levels, right? I am sure that all local leaders who try to effect change have run into roadblocks from the IAM higher-ups. So if they are not drinking the kool-aid they should welcome a change that would give the locals more control. If not then they will be shown the door, but the members will have the final say in that. So good luck guys and gals in clt. I hope your voices are heard and you questions answered.

I understand IDENTIFYING POSTERS BY NAME WITHOUT PERMISSION IS A VIOLATION OF TERMS OF SERVICE.
The statement "The posting & slandering of names with out permission is not permitted" is broad and includes
every person on the USAirway Board of directors and Every "employee" of the IAMAW. This could virtually shut down every
thread on the USAirway forum. Prater, Canale, and Parker are being referred to on the forum every day and I am sure
that they wont give anyone permission to say anything about them.

I hope people are thinking about what they need to do. 1st and foremost ask questions and if satisfied with what your hearing, you'll need to sign a card. The next step is being proactive for change. The change I'm speaking of is one that is a complete 180' from where we are now. The next step would be voting for the change to take place and then demanding the IBEW to speak for you. The IBEW would be yours' pass or fail. The IAM has never been yours' and never will. Look at the names and who they represent. Look at our monthly informational paper. Where do you (fleet) rate ?...The money announced Thur. will be the seventh consecutive quarter this airline has made money and it seems the airline is back. The airline aviation industry is back especially for the major airlines. Today it was announced...
''United Airlines parent UAL Corp. reported third-quarter net income of $334 million, up 75.8% from $190 million in the year-ago quarter.''

This is whats' happening, are we going to get back our dignity in the workplace or stay the workforce without a voice ?

The fix isn't easy but it is there. Remember the IBEW is not turning a deaf ear or thier backs on us.
Thier waiting all we need to do is ask.......

TOP 3 REASONS THE IAM GIVES TO NOT SIGN AN IBEW CARD

1) WE WILL LOSE OUR PENSION

2) WE WILL LOSE THE UNION

3) THE IBEW HAVEN'T REPRESENTED AN AIRLINE. THERE IS NO WAY THEY COULD COMPREHEND THE RAILWAY LABOR ACT.

3 RESPONSES TO THESE REASONS

1) YOUR PENSION IS PAID BY THE COMPANY. 1.10 AN HOUR FOR 80 HOURS A MONTH. THE IAM LETS NON UNION MEMBERS BUY IN TO THERE PENSION SO THEY COULD ALLOW YOU TO STAY IN EVEN THEY WERE VOTED OUT. ON THE OTHER HAND- WHO WOULD WANT TO. THE IBEW HAS A FULLY FUNDED PENSION PLAIN THATS IT RETIREES HAVE BEEN ENJOYING FOR YEARS-MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS PRIVILEGES

2) THE IBEW HAS ALREADY STATED THAT IT WILL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND CONVENTIONAL SUPPORT FOR AN ELECTION. THEY ARE LOOKING FOR BETWEEN 65 AND 70 PERCENT OF CARDS BEFORE THEY FILE. ALSO THE STATISTICS GREATLY FAVOR A RAID OF ONE UNION TO ANOTHER 99% SUCCESS RATE. AND AFTER THE ELECTION THERE WILL BE NO LAPS IN REPRESENTATION. THE IBEW WILL PICK UP WERE THE IAM LEFT-OFF OR SHOULD I SAY NEVER GOT-ON

3) FIRST THE IBEW HAS MEMBERS OPERATING UNDER THE RLA. ALSO DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT THE RLA IS AN IMPENETRABLE DOCUMENT THAT NO UNION OUTSIDE THE INDUSTRY COULD EVER UNDERSTAND. IT IS A TOOL THAT AIRLINES USE TO GET A LEG UP ON LABOR IN THIS INDUSTRY. UNIONS HAVE TO DEAL WITH REGULATIONS AND LEGISLATION ALL THE TIME. IT NO DIFFERENT WITH THE IBEW- IN FACT THEY HAVE A PROVING TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS IN THIS AREA

ATTENTION!!!! NOT ONE OF THE REASONS THE IAM USES IS- WE ARE WORTH KEEPING AROUND.

THEY ARE ALWAYS NEGATIVE AND ALWAYS USE FEAR ON THERE MEMBERSHIP

I'm mainly speaking of posting names & saying things about them in the wrong way such as was removed in this thread. I'm not going to debate or go into this any farther. If you feel there is a violation please use the report to moderator function. That way all the mods can get a look at the post.
But I would like to just ask for everyones help & do this the easy way. Just stay on the subject. It's ok to debate the topic. Just don't make it personal & my thanks for everyones help in doing this .
 
im a phx ramper and im totally for the ibew, ive read all about them and love what i hear but seeing it happening would be even better, i am ready for the ibew to take over and show how the iam's how to do it!!

when is the ibew comeing to phx to talk or have a meeting???
 
Your precious IBEW took massive concessions at Delphi, including the agreement of freezing the pension, I will post details later as it is a very long post.
