How many times do I have to answer the same questions from you?

Asked and answered, yet you havent answered what is poised to you.

Second you dont have anything, because you are an Employee at Will and nothing you have is guaranteed, unlike if you have a CBA, you have things.

I bet that is real comforting to those mechanics in PIT....

Those mechanics in PIT can bump anywhere else in PIT if their seniority lets them, if not they can bump anywhere in the system where their seniority takes them.

There is a no furlough clause also but they have to exercise their seniority, if they take the layoff they have lifetime recall rights.

Can you say the same at Delta?

LOL, even DGS offers transfers when they close a station...  You make it sound like transferring to where there is work available is such a novel idea.  But I know that no matter what I answer, I'm sure it won't be satisfactory to your liking...

Delta doesnt give them recall rights, so if they choose not to move, they are terminated.

Once again do I have to explain it?

The International President and the General Vice Presidents are nominated on and voted on by the membership, that happens every four years and nominations are underway this month.

Explain to us all exactly how "the membership" nominates and votes for them.

BTW, I was a local lodge officer at one time.

Tell me. When can a mechanic walk in and say, "I want to run for IP" and end up on a ballot.

SEC. 4. On January 1, 2005, and January 1 of
9 every 4th year thereafter, the G.S.T. shall issue a
10 circular to all L.Ls. calling for endorsements of
11 nominees for all G.L. officers, 3 delegates to the
12 A.F.L.C.I.O., delegate to the C.L.C. and members
13 of the Committee on Law, which circular shall be
14 accompanied by proper forms for the return of
15 endorsements for nomination by L.Ls.
16 After the receipt of said circular, and at the last
17 regular meeting in January, of which meeting notice
18 shall be served upon members by shop bulle-
19 tin, mail or otherwise, L.Ls. may, by a majority
20 vote of those voting, endorse for nomination 1
21 candidate for I.P., 1 candidate for G.S.T., and 5
22 candidates for the Committee on Law. L.Ls. char-
23 tered other than in Canada may, by majority vote of

25 G.V.P. and 3 candidates for A.F.L.C.I.O.
26 delegates. L.Ls. chartered in Canada may, by ma-
27 jority vote of those voting, endorse for nomination
28 one candidate for G.V.P. and 1 candidate for
29 C.L.C. delegate. On or before 12 oclock midnight,
30 January 31, the R.S. of each L.L. shall forward to

the G.S.T. by registered or certified mail a correct
2 list of all endorsements for nomination and the of-
3 fices for which the members are endorsed, together
4 with their lodge numbers and card numbers, upon
5 the forms provided therefore.
6 A failure to nominate the required number of

8 ment for that office, committee or delegation.

That's it. Sounds simple right. Just put your name in and you can be considered.

Stop being coy. You and I know that no joe person from the floor can ever be nominated and even be considered for election.

I know someone who has tried it. That was a big reason why our local turned completely and voted out the IAM.

You have to get the nominations from 25 locals, just like you have to get nominated for GC or AGC from the locals.

Jay Cronk is running against Tom Buffenbarger, nominations are this month.

Can you just walk in and run for Congress or the President?

Yes. Many in Congress today are there because they can do that. The President, not so much.

Imo, Cronk's running means much more than a simple election, and I like what it may signify on a larger scale. I'm excited at the change it may represent.

P.S. As a former elected lodge officer myself, i'm a huge fan of the idea of "just anyone" showing up to run.

Classic. Lemme help you here:

*The "54 people" I noted are DL employees.

*That is the number of affected positions in Tech Ops/stores for DTW.

*DTW is known as the "Motor City."

Now, remind us again how my comment has "nothing to do with DL."
Detroit is broke and in the middle of filing BK............now if flights are down because people aren't flying to a broke assed city, should an airline remain fully staffed?

"Detroit bankruptcy moves forward as judge rules city can shed debt!"
Oh and btw Detroits unions are taking a hit during BK, just like airline "UNION" employees do, when BK is filed!

"Judge Steven Rhodes turned down objections from unions, pension funds and retirees, which all stand to lose big under any plan to address Detroit's long-term liabilities.'

Did ya tell us rhe options available to these personnel
can u address the issue of why it is so bad for a company to ask an employee to move when ops are reduced since it is well accepted in the airline industry that employees move regularly for the benefit of their own careers.
They will not be laid off or terminated without being given an opportunity to move to a station where they are needed!

How many non-union airlines have cut people?

Guess you dont know about Leadership 7.5.

And mergers usually lead to layoffs, its the nature of the business.

Why did PMNW unionized employees make out better in Chapter 11 than PMDL non-union employees?

Your f ing hilarious! A previous poster states how 1000's of union members were laid off, "WITH A CONTRACT" and instead of explaining how this is acceptable, being a dues paying, union member, you bring up layoffs at a non union company!

I'd rather be a laid off, non-union worker, with more money in my pocket, than a laid off union member, who paid dues to a union who didn't protect me!

You dont get laid off at Delta, you get terminated, at least with a CBA and a layoff you have recall rights.

Dont let the facts get in your way.
