I agree. From what I've heard, a lot of your coworkers are also no, (haven't heard one yes yet) and they have already given up on the IAM, and want someone else.AP Tech said:A great big "NO"........if it should pass I have finally given up on the IAM...

The problem is everybody seems to focus on pay. Loss or reduction of benefits far ways the long term outlook of our careers.Just Another BK said:Changing Unions won't change the inevitable fact that wages will rise as we transition to a single carrier. We would all probably be sitting here waiting for the IBT to start negotiating for the next couple of years instead of enjoying a "New" CBA that raises at least my pay by 10.45% !
is AMFA still filing at AA in August? I heard that drive has stalled.1AA said:The problem is everybody seems to focus on pay. Loss or reduction of benefits far ways the long term outlook of our careers.

10.45% raise and you're still at the bottom. You've been beaten down so long that you think this is a good deal. You guys better hope that your wages rise when you go to single carrier, but something tells me Parker and co. Will have some other excuse as to why they can't.Just Another BK said:Changing Unions won't change the inevitable fact that wages will rise as we transition to a single carrier. Exactly. People that focus on hourly pay as the most important are the ones that will vote yes for a 5% hourly base increase and lose 10% worth of benny pay or work rule pay, O/T rates etc... They are also the type that will vote in a signing bonus rather than retro, or in exchange for a better % on base pay. Short sited folks who are in rather large dept only sees the money up front not long term, and these are the folks that most companies bank on to pass the first offer givin by the companies (in general). It is very hard to convince people that are dead set in this way to consider the long term effect but it is worth discussing as we are currently doing it now about our retro coming due to us. I know you know this; The higher we raise our base rate the higher our % raises will be down the road, one time payouts and bonuses are exactly that, "one time" and are usually spent before they get it, as well as taxed at a much higher rate than receiving the % raise on the base. This is our careers we all should be looking down the road and long term...1AA said:The problem is everybody seems to focus on pay.
