This is why the I'll Ask Management should have been negotiating under section 6 for the west, during transition negotiations. Maybee instead of kissing Dougweisers ring they should have been fighting for their members out west. Now both East and West got screwed over by the ineptitude of the I'll Ask Managements negotiating team. I hope somebody on the West has the ba**s to file a DFR against canoli and his boys for the non-representation.

FWIW: I think the west is more fed up with Canale than the east even though that's hard to imagine.

Yes, there are many with balls out west and we are in process of filing a DFR that will be submitted to the OLMS office in Chicago. Just a couple more faxes for signatures is all that's needed.

Separately, don't sweat the negotiations. Hemmingway is the face, voice of the investors. He will be back with a better contract [he may have to do this alot], after he briefs the investors that the union and company are farther apart than they anticipated, thanks to the Local Elections that sent 3 'non canalites' to the negotiations team. Remember, other than the 3 negotiators who were elected by the membership and just inserted, the rest of the negotaitons team is corrupt since they answer to Canale and not the membership.

These are good times so the company came to fleet first. Do you think it was a coincidence that the company came to fleet service first? The idea in good times is to give fleet service crumbs, then more for mechanics and then alot more for pilots.
If it were bad times the company would have come to the pilots first. Expect nothing less than what is fair. Hold the position, make sure our solidarity sticks together tighter than two coats of paint, and things will be ok.

At any rate, gotta jet, more later.

The company believes the employees of this airline should lower their standards. The union lost the CIC, fuel is $100 a barrel, the company is giving the cabin a makeover, the BOD is packing the golden chutes......there is no $$$ for the people who carry this airline. Expect less - get even less than that, and be grateful.

the reason the company is back at the table is it’s now THEIR turn to get dragged through the mud , guess what , it doesn’t feel so good does it ?

As far as deadlines go , I’ve set mine for this Friday 5pm to hear something really positive back from my union … If I don’t , well we’re just going to let what’s going to happen , happen … and I’d say I’m not alone in this deadline …. You have NO IDEA how pissed off we are …. Ah super bowl time , I have a feeling that no one’s going to be winning this year …….

Freedom,
Good luck with that. Maybee you can ask Ron Roth for an update.
Don't expect the company to move fast on this one. We will be lucky if it is before 2009. And as far as our "union" goes, don't expect them to be banging on the company's door to get this done. We are mushrooms to the company/I'll Ask Management, they keep us in the dark and feed us sh*t.

Man O Man you are good !Understanding what makes management tick is very important
Couldn’t agree more. There is no denying fleet is in a labor dispute

Not sure what you mean by the company being drug through the mud? US mgt, and the BOD is in the driver's seat right now. Unless this refers to your second point of disrupting service next weekend for the Super Bowl, but then again, customers have come to expect that from USAIR, and were that to happen you only hurt your own cause.

I’m not sure where your from , but here in PHX we are in the know … and ron roth keep us updated we don’t have to ask .

What we have now is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a national statement … the entire united states media will be focused on PHX … we should endeavor not to let this chance pass us by .. I wonder is it legal to print out large signs like you see when one passes by hotels and their in a labor dispute , but only instead of the large sign reading labor dispute , perhaps it could just read #### you ?

Eh , I didn’t say anything about disrupting anything … all we have to do is let the chaos that we hold back everyday with our extra efforts happen … no more extra effort for you AMERICA WEST ….

Actually the USA would not be surprised. The opinion of USair is already in the toilet, this would only confirm that USair is a crap company, poorly run, with employees who show up to work, when they really should have found other work to do since they are so insulted. If it bothers you that much that you would do that, then just quit! Problem is nobody is walking away, and for that reason all the talk of solidarity is nonsense, because in the end you will do what historically has been done by fleet and that is to shoot yourself in the foot.

Spoken like a true union/company man. Are you so sure that you will keep your $100,000 club membership. BTW how will we "shoot ourselves in the foot" so to speak. Make no mistake about it, Fleet Service if finally unified in a cause now. That cause is to oust canoli and his boys in the 100k club.

Not so sure how lucky it will be but given the 'merger mania' I'm pretty sure your management will come back to the table. The environment has changed and fleet service has the leverage....that's why your company will be back....you have something management needs.

1/2 billion net profit in each of last two years, VP's hired weekly, $3 billion in bank, Parker's new deal, second best balance sheet in the entire industry.

The network of solidarity is strong and it will be this solidarity that should net a fair contract before 2008 is up. If not then let the mechanics and Pilots go first.

With the upcoming mergers, fleet service should be extra careful from signing a transition too soon without obtaining real merger seniority/lay off protections and Parker's COC language. In mergers, thousands get laid off so if there isn't good merger language installed then it won't matter how much you make......ask TWA ramp how the District Chairman scrwed them over with the American Merger...all got put to the bottom of the list, then first layoff it was 'Cya'.

freedom,

Do us a favor and ask Roth if he expressed a desire to sign the companys proposal without an extension. If he is a man of the cloth I have an idea what your answer will be. Birdies from up north say he wants to throw us under the bus for the money. I just want to know if he is man enough to stand by his actions.

Oh, my job is quite safe and I feel more than confident in that!

I will sit back for a while and watch the fireworks, kind of tired after the weekend anyways, Tiger Woods is a quite a golfer huh? Great galleries all weekend at Torrey Pines, good to be back from the left coast though!
