I.A.M VS I.B.T

I'll debate...

Locals closed, so what I have a mind..

Eric and Airwoman never orginized to be represented, and the IBT never went after them like the IAM did (on the east side).. Is that your point. That the IAM forced unionism upon people that did not ask for it and its members did not request? To easy.. All you have done is prove the IAM only cares about dues..

Thank you smmech. Well said.

DON'T HAVE TOO!!! JUST READ THE IAM CONTRACT AND ALL THE BENEFITS YOU EAST GUYS HAVE.
don't crow too soon IBT soon to be IAM like it or not!
you should be aware of the fact that trough an interesting set of circumstances and strange and unusual dioramas IAM has become aware of your limited success at rendering a new vote... aaah

Do tell Dell..........could it be the "mole" you haven spoken of???  ;)

NWA has Mechanic and Utility (Cleaners) well had.

UAL also has Mechanic and Utility.

US was the first airline to organize the stock clerks.

Cleaners lets see how many are left at us airways?
the cleaners were threatened at awa that if they voted in a union the would be fired, that was the second time we voted and that threat came from bill franke, and guess what after they voted no by a slim margin he fired them all and contracted all the work out. so in other words most all of airlines cleaners work is or will soon be contracted out just like the ones your company layed off. most likly will never return. just think the nmb might even remove them from your list because of the reason they won't ever come back sence this company contacts out this work allredy! and the store clerks are another issue that they might be moved also they allready told awa when voted over 6 years ago they were not in our class.

Maybe one of the HP Stock Clerks can tell me why they didn't fall under the Mechanic and Related contract at America West.

because the nmb said they were not in the same class, we tried to have them under our vote but they shot it down, thats why its a good shot they will be removed from this new companies contracts and on thier own like the awa side is.

doubt very seriously as to that happening.

maybe mechanics next?

I know I have posted this but this is your answer..
19.2 Authority

Pursuant to Section 2, Ninth, the NUMB, upon an Application, has the authority to resolve representation disputes arising from a merger involving a Carrier or Carriers covered by the RLA. The NMB will consider these representation issues on a case-by-case basis.

AND GOOD MORNING DELL

has authority but what has been the precedent.
won't matter any way...not enough cards now and not enough when the fat lady sings.

Precedents seem to be the easy way out if that's what everyone, including the union(s) and the NMB, rely on. Time to set some new precedents!! Clean this mess up once and for all.

Precendents are rulings that must be followed.
prec·e·dent ( P ) Pronunciation Key (prs-dnt)
n.

An act or instance that may be used as an example in dealing with subsequent similar instances.
Law. A judicial decision that may be used as a standard in subsequent similar cases: a landmark decision that set a legal precedent.
Convention or custom arising from long practice: The President followed historical precedent in forming the Cabinet.

The word MAY is twice in the definition.

It's almost hard to believe that this is coming up again.

It is not a court or law, it is the NMB's policies.

Which have been clearly and closely followed, how many mergers have you been through?

I have PI/PS/US/TS.

The definition remains the same.

And again, none. Have you ever been a part of the NMB's process besides being an employee of a company who is/has undergone a number of mergers?? And no, I haven't either.

That is the process.

I have been trained in how the NMB works and been involved in organizing drives, succesful ones at that and mergers.

The only way you are involved with the NMB is as an employee of a company that falls under the RLA.

Precendents are rulings that must be followed.
For example when a company goes into bankruptcy and takes away everyone’s wages, benefits and pensions at the same time awards themselves millions for the legal kill they just notched up on their corporate belt of victories with the sword of uncle Sam clenched in their fist. Precedent setting indeed. Behold the working mans future.

like 700 says....previous precedents are usually the way NMB goes.there isn't anything unusual or peculiar to this merger to warrant any drastic move from previous rulings.
