Haven't Heard About the Extra 4% in Equity to be Held Aside?

The rumor was that the stock issued to employees as equity can't go above (around) 44 a share not that AAL cant. I was told if AAL goes to 100 the employees stock is capped at 44.
The stock is yours to do with whatever you want with no stipulations. It can go up to $44 or $344 or whatever. The value of the shares to you will be when you decide to sell them. Now or in 20 years if you want.

So, with the stock price tumbling, does that mean I'm getting more shares out of what the TWU withheld??
nothing + nothing is still nothing.     But I remember reading that they were going to have a private firm invest the shares .For our benifit of course. Someones brother-in law is getting a sweet deal.

Not true. Once it's issued, all the risk & reward shifts over to you. I'd probably hold it until the earnings release comes out in a few days. Stocks tend to go up when you're profitable, and that is a reasonable expectation for the time being.

Ahh, gotcha.   Nope, as the others have said, there are no price limits.  Price is not capped and there are no differences between the stock issued to the employees and the other shares of AAL.   If AAL goes to $100, then all shares go to $100.

If the 14% isn't used up on attorneys or the lawsuit. Our existing W-9 will still insure taxes are taken out if any equity is leftover correct?
Also we owe taxes on any gains on shares correct?
*This may already be posted on this topic but I really do not want to read thru 25 pages to find the answers. Thnx

Absolutely....Any rumor of of an "employee share price cap' is ridiculous.
As for today's price tumbling, earnings were lowered by one firm.

I guess you could add in some heavy sell offs today now that employees and other shareholders can finally unload the stock.
This makes it a buying opportunity for others.

You don't think the market manipulates stocks to get people to sell. What do you really think they're doing right now on the DAY the final equity is distributed. You sell and they buy.

Logged in this morning to see what surprise the company gave me thanks to the wonderful negotiating tactics of the TWU.

I am speechless. What a disgrace to all the men and woman who sacrificed so much in concessions since 2003. I am convinced that we will not see any of that 14% and the prefunding is or was a big pipe dream. Have we learned our lesson yet or do we need to be fleeced again?

37 friggin' shares? What happened to expect 25% of day one distribution? 25%, 15% oh well they were close, right? At least it's over. No more wondering how much. Oh sure, if the retiree case gets thrown out there is that other 14%, or 10%. If if if . We will likely get those shares the same day the IAM/TWU negotiates us all an industry leading contract. Good Luck.

It's actually 28% of what was received on day one, in value, not shares.
