I'm old,I'm retired, I dont have a dog in this fight anymore. I think most of you are doing is a me(E)vs me(W) fight, when it should be us(all)vs them (mgmt)fight. A while back during a previous merger mania, US-PS-PI combined, we complained for a while but we got over it quick, because we figured thats what we needed to do. Complain or fight is not an option, complain & fight is the only option. F/C, C/C, M&R all need to demand equitable compensation. F/F's should demand quality you earned it. Everyone is getting screwed (except management).

N346PS – please don't take this personally... but what a horrible, horrible, attitude.

It is not management that you need to be working against as your enemy, but it is the other airlines in your industry that you need to be working against.

Every day, every action, by every employee at US should be geared towards achieving operational excellence and giving every single paying passenger every reason to want to come back to US every time they travel by air. If you aren't thinking this way, I can guarantee you that there are a dozen airlines in the wings that want US out of business tomorrow.

I have worked many jobs in my career and every organization where I have worked that is focused on “killing” the competition (other companies in my industry) has been a successful organization. Successful organizations lift the tide for all employees and successful organizations are capable of taking care of their employees financially.

Unsuccessful companies are companies that focus on internal strife and spend all of their effort on internal infighting. Wake up – the enemy that you are fighting are the Southwest's, Jet Blue's and American Airlines's of this world. They want you out of business tomorrow and if successful – they and their employees will laugh all the way to the bank. US management is the wrong enemy.

Rational thinking and advice. BUT, have you ever tried dealing with Tempe? It's more than frustrating. In one year they have squandered the goodwill and excitement that US Airways' employees felt for them and they have alienated our customers. We didn't make them the enemy.

Correct. I used to really care for this airline (AWA and US Airways) and fought to get planes out on time and professionally. The kool-aid was good and refreshing. When they decided that they didn't want to pay me on the same scale as my colleagues, I felt that I and many others had been shat upon. They brought this war to us. They are the enemy. It can go the way of Eastern, as far as I'm concerned. They could care less about you and I. Southwest and Jet Blue are the least of my worries. Doug and Scott Kirby have a knife between my shoulder blades.

I agree... Tempe is not running a stellar operation in my humble opinion. But, if every one (employees and competitors) are focused on killing management then you can bet that someone will succeed in some way.

Either way .... thats good for the competition and bad for the US employees. That is back to my original point - N346PS wants to help out the employees by turning on US management and in the end that will only hurt all of the US employees.

Again , the enemy is not US Management, the enemy is every airplane out there that does not have US Airways on the side.

Boeing4me,please don't take this personally... but I think you misinterpereted my post. I was saying that you people are so busy fighting each other that you cant see the real enemy. Now im going to use one of P.B.'s frequent quotes from Herb Kelleher "If you treat your employees right, they treat your customers right, If you treat your customers right they come back, Its just that simple".
When I worked for US I always thanked my employees because, {1} It made them proud of what they accomplished, {2} It inspired them to do better.

You must be from headquarters. Get away from the cubicle and kool-aid dispenser and visit the PHX ramp.

I would strike as fast as you can. This way you can beat the competition at their own game. I would do a work slow down by the book, don't work overtime through the system conversion. Once all those folks in IT who work for the company get their act together then consider working harder. I'm confident Doug directed IT to screw up the SHARES conversion to $%*& the employees and customers over. Doug has a great plan. I think he has a calendar that has an idea a day on how to $%^@ employees and customers. As a matter of fact if you read the 10-k filings you will see that the number one strategic mission of US is do something everyday to ruin the airline.

Huh? Tempe has bent over backwards more times than a Philly pretzle to accomodate the east. They painted up airplanes (twice just to satisfy them) they gave them DOH for non-revving, they have adopted practically every east procedure and they didn't stand in the way when the east unions decided to go Cossack all over the west.

Gee refilling the goodwill bucket for the east is a full-time job.

What?!

The fight isn't with the west f/as. Please don't try to make it that. It plays right into the Company's hand.

Yes this company has done little for those of us in the west , what has changed for many of us with this new merger ? NOTHING .... we are being held "hostage" by our own freaking company as a negotiating tool!!!!!

The kool aid has cyanide in it!

P.S for those of you sitting in the sandcastle , don't forget the company was ready to elmitnate you and move your jobs to Delta's HQ...

Wrong.

Without knowledgeable, effective, compassionate and inspirational leadership, any organization is bound to stagger and fail. There is no way to effectively meet those "airplanes out there" without the leadership being in place first. Until that happens, management is indeed the enemy.

I, too, used to have a lot of respect for this company and its management. Now that they are going to pay me considerably less than my east counter-parts doing the same job, well then, F&CK-THEM!!! I will go above and beyond for my pax but NOT my company. Respect is a two way street and management wants my respect, then they need to start respecting to me.

WILLING TO WALK, WILLING TO WALK, WILLING TO WALK!
