Dennis Burchette is now head of negotiation

At Tulsa we are days away from getting a turnover of union officers. I believe I speak for the majority of fed up TWU 514 members when I say we want Burchette to get the hell out of the way. He was never voted into the position in which he now holds and most are not proud of the Burchette years. This guy who acted rough and tuff rolled over for the company to rub his belly. Burchette you've interfered with our lives enough! Your nothing but a company doormat. Stay out of the way. We'd like to get a good contract this time.

That is very nice to hear! I hope it happens!

Just like Burchette, when going gets tough you beat up the wife. Burppp! Burppp!
Yeah, but he according to the rumor gets to do it on a flight in first class and keeps his job, imAAgine that. Anyone else would be fired on the spot, especially flying A5. He also should also be removed from his twu job and placed in bad standing. Finally why the hell does he and his wife get to fly A5 for personal travel?

I will believe it when I see it.

There will be a new Local president for sure. But who?
As for the rest of the positions I will not be so sure that the incumbents will loose.
The number of candidates is large and it could be very easy for them (incumbents) to stay in office since the opposition is definitely divided.
Just from listening to people, it seems that the opposition has no candidates with a large following.
People are split.
The TWU guys that are in office now, will get their votes no matter what.

Sounds like the first trade-off for the 2008 contract. We'll give you the pension, if you let Yingst stay on the job. ;)

Bring on the incumbents, bring on the next card drive.

TWU will be ousted without much effort. Even the Tulsa crowd will be so damn mad that card signing will be easy. No need to have informational meetings and distribution of material. If the incumbents get re-elected then mailout the cards for a new union.

Maybe the opposition will split their votes between challengers on the Local Election Ballot, but then I bet the opposition becomes solidly and unified in favor of removing the TWU.

So now we are told this story is BS and his travel benefits are suspended just adds to the rumor of a flight problem.

ALOHA
I guess with the ALOHA that means that it happened on the way to the islands or returning. Do you know which? If the flight was disrupted he,his wife or both must have been arrested or detained. Does anybody have a police report? I know that there have been people detained or arrested for less than this. I guess this means that the twu owes the company another BIG FAVOR. I can here it now and I don't even have to wait till 2008. This is the best we could do guys. We had to sell you out to save our unelected ATD director.

As always, it helps to have low friends in high places.

Isn't that the truth...

I think it’s a little deeper then that. The TWU will spin A/C maint. off from AA for Yingst’s job, that would be bigger then the pension. We would get a sweet heart contract for the spin off, with no contractual language for working on AA metal. At the end of the contract, AA would bid us against cheep labor and send all AA metal to the cheapest bidder and would not have to worry about the pension any more.

Oh Oh......does that mean I should run and retire now?

Gee - I thought I had read something once about not wanting to "burn the house down"; how that would be the wrong thing to do.

How would removing the TWU be burning the house down?

Good Question...

...but to some TWU stooges, anything short of an ass kissing union that will give management anything they want without a fight, while producing "free" t-shirts with slogans is burning the house down fear mongering change.

Somehow they think that having a real democratic union that doesn't think for us and believe they must save us from ourselves is the equivilent of the end of life as we know it.

They seem to ignore the fact the TWU was on the property at both PanAmerican and Eastern Airlines. Instead they focus on AMFA at Northwest and disregard any facts that point to the truth about the TWU.
