Where's the "code of ethics" book that was sent out?
It's at the bottom of DoUgIe's trash bin.

Nah! He's using it as a coaster for his beer mug. Anyway, I just took a look at it and got a good laugh!

The revised Code clarifies our standards of conduct in potentially sensitive situations; it makes clear that US Airways Group expects all employees, officers and directors to appreciate the ethical considerations of
their actions, and it reaffirms our long-standing commitment to not merely obey applicable laws, but also to do business with integrity and without deception...maintaining our high standards is
everyone’s responsibility. We rely on your good judgment, ethics and high standards as representatives of US Airways Group. Unethical or illegal conduct, even by one individual, can jeopardize our Company’s integrity and
discredit all of us...Preserving and enhancing US Airways Group’s reputation requires unbending commitment from every employee to promote the highest principles of integrity and ethical behavior...

Sincerely,
W. Douglas Parker
Chairman of the Board, President and CEO

I wonder if Doug himself actually read that part. I was never more proud of my airline then on the day HE made the papers for doing something stupid. Great comments from pissed passengers made for great trips. Flightchic I wouldn't worry about a thing.

<SNIP> Heck, I see bras, hiked up skirts and tops unbuttoned all the time at US.
Yeah, and that’s just the male FAs.

Meaningless corporate blather.

But you first implied it was simply pictures that got her into trouble. Now you are saying she posted racy pictures of herself in uniform. Heck, I see bras, hiked up skirts and tops unbuttoned all the time at US.

Since you seem to know about this, would she be in trouble for posting pictures of models in DAL uniform?

sky high states: Sorry, I implied. Here's the pictures in question: http://queenofsky.journalspace.com/?cmd=di...amp;entryid=393

As far as being in trouble, Delta F/A's have NO Union, thus, no UNION protection. Also, I dont know Delta's Ethic's policies. You'd have to ask over at the Delta board. This incident happened a year or so ago.

only stating opinions.

Fellow Flight attendants-

I want to bring to light a point that most of you are familiar with. These are the darkest days of USAirways bar none. Managment looks for buyers and no one bites but then again who want this 57 Chevy with 4 flat tires? To the reserve group who is suffering, it was only 4 months ago that a lot of you were chanting and demanding action be taken. With the explosion of the international market, many of you are holding lines for the summer. I ask what about the reserves that you left behind? Block holders are here to stay. Even with the PBGC enhancement no one is budging off the property it seems. Unfortunately for all of us we are too predictable. Its a self induced sense of entitlement that has rotted each one of us to the core. There are still reserves out there being abused on a daily bases! What happened to their voice? Come this fall with the reduction of the schedule and perhaps even a bankrupt airline the voices that were so loud last year will once again come into play. What happened to all of us that as soon as we get what's good for us we forget the suffering of others. Unless we learn the hard lessons on what it is to be a union we will forever be at the mercy of outrageous management and piss poor contracts.

Baja

That sums it up Baja. The lineholders from 92-98 that are holding lines now are silent. They got thrown the piece of meat and are enjoying every bite. I disagree a little as I don't think US Airways will even be around come the winter for those same people to complain again. The funny part is we all have the ablility to change it but it's like pulling the emergency stop cord on the train. We can stop it but it takes us all pulling the stop cord. <_<

Basically what the Babe said.

We can change this abortion. Everyone must pull together, no exceptions, and it will change. Fast enough to postpone or eliminate failure? Who knows? We would be cowards not to try, though.

I'm not trying to be the P!SS on the campfire here but what if we got ALL the reserves together. Together and do what? The company is NOT going to change anything that is in the contract to enhance or make the life of the reserve easier. Being a reserve myself we all who had voice in voting are responsible for what we have today. I don't think you'd find a reserve that would be against improvements by any means. How, what and where do we DEMAND these changes? We are stuck folks. Until sometime in 2025 when we get a new contract it is going to continue to be what it is. I don't think that many of the folks in my year of 1998 forgot about us reserves. Those that got a block are supposed to do what for us now? They were able to hold a block so they did. I don't get how their compassion would help. It's a frustrating feeling and I hate what we deal with but where do we go from here?

Why do you think we have no control? We have more control than most can imagine. We ban together and step one is standing up and saying NO NO NO to the contract violations that currently take place. We present AFA with a petition to change things. If that means replacing the negotiating committee we all have the power to force the MEC to do it! WE are the union! Does no one get that?Have we become so apathetic we don't care? I think if someone shot this group with a gun we would not even bleed anymore. Most important you must have outstanding people in your union. Not people that are just passing through the night to get away from the flight time but people who care. That my friends is where we screw up...step one and we %^* it up.

Delta is real funny about this kind of thing. Anything that might put the company in a bad light is an issue with them. They are a bunch of school marmes. Not that I think it was bad, but as harmless as it seems to us, Delta had other ideas. And who knows, maybe there were other issues that haven't been told.

I wouldn't get paraniod over your blog. Have at it, darling!!

FlightChic- Don't you DARE not post your blog. Don't let these freaks bully you! Now I have some blockholder friends that read your blog and they called asking "is it really that bad??" "Why is that permissable"? I went off! What!? Where the hell have these people been? This place lives in it's own bubble I swear. We are all with you and I have been treated the same and worse at times. Keep up the flame!

Even if every violation was fought and we worked under the current contract with no violations it would STILL be hell for us and won't be changing ANY time soon is all I'm saying. Hell yes I'll vote and let my voice be heard and be sure to get my friends to vote too but UNTIL that time life for the reserve as we know it today won't be changing much. Regardless of how much we b!tch about it. We can stand outside of headquarters with candles in hand and it won't change. I'm not a pesimist but a realist. What we have here folks is a mess and a mess that won't be changing any time in the distant future. As Beachboy stated though, we must fight the violating. KNOW YOUR LEGALITIES and read the contract. Soooo important. Omar in the office is VERY knowledgeable and is eager to help. THAT is refreshing. I thank you personally.

TravelPro-
I guess that's the best we can hope for. It's also vital that AFA reps to know the RIGHT answer and deliver it without an attitude. ;) I think this group could change so much more than they give themselves credit for. This company is at a cross roads but headed right off the cliff. Baja was right on with her comments.

Sure Beachboy you could ban together in PHL and give JMC
your petition but you would need every base to convince their LECP to oust the negotiating committee and NO we don't have that power. It takes the majority of LECP to change that and it won't happen. The best you could hope for is new leadership and that didn't happen; something as simple as VOTING was too hard for most of the f/a's to do.
So come fall the bitching about reserve injustices will start again. Nothing but another year passing is all that will have changed.
