I'm just one guy & retired at that so most likely what I say matters not, but imo you all better be ready to stand & hit the street if need be & not back down like company is counting on.

yeah, no reason to move any merger forward. What merger? Not without getting a contract with dignity and respect. Gotta support the NC. If there isn't a deal anytime soon then that support also means informing the membership to stand firm and that it is the company who is extending talks. One thing to constantly point out is how the company came to an agreement handing the AMR workers pay raises and stock but doesn't think it's own employees are worth even that. Not surprised but our members have to be informed that this may be extended unless they want to be treated less than AMR. regards,If what was posted is true regarding Fleet negotiations it should come as no suprise. The company has chosen to test the resolve, solidarity and patience of the NC and the membership they represent. The question to all members on this forum is how do we respond to the company's posture? I ask that you submit the question to your co workers and fellow members in your respective stations. IMO... as stated earlier, until the company proposes a fair and equitable contract proposal to the US Fleet there will be labor unrest with this merger going forward. Time to lock and load Brothers and Sisters. The question to the District Leadership and the NC is do they have the same resolve as the membership? If not... we could see the same results we witnessed with the UA TA.
No, but they recognized it and gave an additional MOU. Thus, it is less than fair that management's proposal to the IAM is less than the one in the bankrupt contract at AMR. Now is the time to move the bar upwards for both US AIRWAYS and AMR FSC. The more that is received on this end of joint talks, the more leverage joint talks would have to get more. OTOH, getting a mini contract on this end, could even bring joint talks to hostage, especially if scope wasn't enhanced on this side. regards,Point of order, US Airways management had Zip, Zero, Nada, Nothing to do with the equity stake the TWU got from AMR.

Glad to see, based on the District Update, the NC plans to do station visits. Good starting point for communicating to and rallying the membership. We need to build solidarity. It most likely will be a long haul, based on the company's posture, but we need to dig in and pull together. The company has chosen their path.yeah, no reason to move any merger forward. What merger? Imperative that scope must be enhanced with our contract. We need to protect the work and jobs we currently have then enter transition talks. A fair contract first... then transition talks. Until then there will be labor unrest. No, but they recognized it and gave an additional MOU. OgracTim,
I'm confident we agree that scope language must be enhanced in our current US Fleet Service contract negotiations. My concern is, based on the District Update, there is no mention of this critical issue being discussed or negotiated. It speaks of the level of discussions regarding wages, benefits, pension and work rules did not meet the needs of our members. No mention of enhancements in scope language being discussed or negotiated. This concerns me. Maybe CB or P. Rez can shed some light on wheather the NC is focusing on this issue in negotiations.
