Article 4 Industry Comparable Pay rate

American and TWU have had a program in place for 11 years and with the FAA approved renewal of the program, ASAP will be extended for two more years. The TWU/American Airlines ASAP maintenance program is the longest running in U.S. commercial aviation.
ASAP is a safety partnership organized by American, the union, and the FAA, designed to encourage employees to voluntarily report safety-related information.

No I was on the mark. You were wrong. The TWU was the first for mechanics. Get over yourself.

Wrong about what?

I never said American Mechanics weren't the first mechanic group in the ASAP program.

You claimed the TWU was pioneering & leading the charge & other unions should thank them ..... THAT is completely disingenuous.

The TWU didn't create the ASAP, they were just one of many airlines/labor groups that were in its initial program.

Maybe you should try getting over yourself as your obvious attempts at TWU aggrandizement isn't fooling anyone.

Uh, its listed in alphabetical order.

Nice try
Ok sounds good I will try again. What two Unions are listed as contributing to this guide and what Union exists who's sole purpose is to represent Aircraft Maintenance that is not listed as a contributor?

Yes other unions should thank the TWU for pioneering ASAP for mechanics. That is 100% the truth. The TWU signed the first MOU with the FAA for mechanics and through continuous updates set the basis for what is today's program.

That's the truth. It's okay to be wrong. Ask your IBT rep which law firm they use for your ASAPs. I'll help you, it is the labor law firm the TWU has used for decades. The IBT knows our program is the best and they use our legal counsel.

You two just don't get it.

Are you that delusional that you actually think if the TWU had not been there to be the mechanics first that no other mechanics group would've joined the ASAP?

Get real!

The TWU did not pioneer the ASAP for mechanics. Period

Oh and BTW here at UAL its known as MSAP, and our MOU was negotiated by AMFA.

Oh do they also have a pamphlet somewhere that I missed? I did look for one but just couldn't find it?

Well after the AA/TWU MOU. You can tell your AMFA reps they are welcome for the all the hard work good TWU reps and legal counsel work that was done by the industrial union. You know the one that apparently doesn't know anything about AMTs and the job they do.

I like to watch this one every once in awhile. You really have to watch the whole thing though. I think it's great all the way through.

As it says here in the preamble to the AA/TWU MOU we were the first mechanic program in place and we pioneered the program for dispatch and mechanics. Pretty sweet huh?! Way to go TWU. The industrial union did good!

PREAMBLE
1.1 Introduction
American Airlines a Part 121 Air Carrier introduced the Aviation Safety Action Program (AA ASAP) to the aviation industry on April 4, 1994 when the first ASAP Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by officials from American Airlines (AA), the Allied Pilots Association (APA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). AA ASAP was extended to flight dispatchers, represented by the Transport Worker Union, AFL-CIO (TWU), on July 1, 1997, and Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) on July 1, 1998. The M&E ASAP Program began as an eighteen-month demonstration program and was extended 6 months following its initial evaluation period. All parties agree that the M&E ASAP program has provided significant accident and incident prevention results. Analysis of the program revealed M&E ASAP to be vastly different in scope and detail from the Flight/Dispatch ASAP program. In order to maximize its effectiveness, it will now be administered as its own program rather than an addendum to the Flight/Dispatch MOU. The M&E ASAP agreement is expanded upon and otherwise clarified herein to reflect ASAPs growing success. This is a continuing MOU subject to review and renewal by the FAA every two years. All parties have entered into the program voluntarily.

LOL!

By your own example you prove my point the ASAP existed before the TWU decided to join in.

Maybe you should credit the APA for "pioneering" the ASAP
