The mediator informed us that we will be going back in just 10 days. We will be headed to DFW the week of May 6th. I'm sure the whole financial package will continue to be discussed.

Hey charile brown please let our NC know that they have my thanks for the LOA that was just signed , if this is an indication of where your taking things than you're going in the right direction .

Thank you !

But this is good news , two of our stations are now safe from out sourcing for at least a year . Yes there's still work to do on getting a new contract , but a new contract doesn't do our people any good if they aren't around for it .
Several of our stations are now safe from outsourcing for at least a year. Several were below the threshold. In two of those stations the vendor was already lined up. I understand the feeling that this is no big deal from those working in bigger stations; but for those working in the several stations under the threshold, especially those in the two stations in the crosshairs, this LOA deflected hardship and job loss for many members. At least for a year. Take it from one who works in one of the stations in the company's crosshairs. Will check in later on details concerning the vendor of choice.

I would like for everyone to understand where we are at. Now that the merger has been announced, we have basically shift focus from getting a complete exhaustive contract, to getting some of the things that we must have in order to get to joint contract talks. Protecting fleet from anymore job loss is one of the things we needed. Does the committee want better scope? Hell yes. Also better financial package, and seniority protection. We believe whoever the joint committee ends up being, they will need to fight as the worlds largest carrier to make these issues better!! Our goal now is getting what we must have now, and then getting our members to those joint talks. Keeping all the cities status quo for at least another year gets the scope issue out of the way until the joint negotiations. Now we must deal with the other issues. Seniority protection, and financial package.

are you joking? Gets scope out of the way until joint talks? Right before joint talks we go right back to square one again. Omg its happening all over again. Put the loa up on the main webpage and maybe an official update under a name other than charlie brown. Sheesh

Let me say this once, I'm not going to start debating back and forth with you. My goal is to inform members on here on what's going on. However I do find it funny that you will get on here and respond about what we are doing in negotiations now, when you told everyone we wouldn't even be in this situation, that we would go directly into joint talks. So it seems to me that anything we get in negotiations is far more than what you believed we would get. I'm not concerned about what you think, or your opinion, I'm here to give info.

who said anything about debating.u guys havent got anything yet so pipe down. Put up the loa buddy if you want to inform the membership.

I don't believe that we even have any fleet staffed stations with roughly 1-2 ML flights anyway, so who will this really protect?

There were several stations that dropped below the threshold of 56 weekly mainline flights per week this past April 5th. For those cities, we got the language to read that work currently being performed by fleet will not be contracted out as long as they maintain 7 weekly mainline flights.

I dont want to read to much into anything but does the LOA supersede the language that is there?
I dont trust the Lawyer Lingo that this company puts out.

The LOA language basically keeps all cities status quo. The company can't contract out any of the cities that dropped below the number this past April , provided they maintain 7 weekly mainline flights. The company also doesn't have to contract in any city that may have been over the number of 98 weekly flights .

And yes is the answer to your question. This language would supersede the contract until it expires next April, then it would go back to the current contract, if we don't have a better agreement in place by then. Which hopefully we will have.

can you copy and paste the loa instead of giving us ur version? Can we still ask for a release or picket sincethere has been no movement? What is our eboard waiting for or is this united part two?

No, I can't release the LOA at this time. When we are told its ok to do so, then I will be glad to. We can asked to be released at anytime, however we won't be asking in the immediate future because we did make some progress this past week. We also made significant strides on protecting our seniority. So we did make progress.

IAM/LCC/CC ? Article 3 -Recognition and Scope.Pgs.8-9. What happens with stations that were protected under the US/LCC May 8, 2008 CBA. Several that still have F/S Agents fall below the 7 flts. a day 49 a wk. operating with A/C with more than 69 seats ?
