awesome, our contract talks are at a critical point and the best we can do is yet another useless debate on Tim Nelson

The personal attacks continue. The focus on the past continues. Although relevant in certain situations... can we stay focused on current issues. Examples: What needs to be done to improve solidarity? When will we see an update on the 141 website concerning developments this week in DC? How do we convince the membership to look past the compensation package of any future TA and consider the entire package before voting? Has the DL 141 NC and Leadership at UA truly learned something from the recent rejection of the TA? IMO... this is where our focus should be.

They could still be negotiating, and remember since it is under the control of the NMB Mediator, he can issue a gag order too.

Or they could have written an update and it might have to go to legal first.

Trust me, I was in charge of writing all the bulletins for M&R during the 04/05 bankruptcy and it had to be approved by the whole committee, the District President and the Transportation Dept at times.

I'm sure the same process exists. Patiently awaiting the official update on what transpired this week. Hopefully, there will be some good news.

i sure hope it will be good news... i do have a question though... is it possible they could get say a temp contract to get the iam support for the merger and if so what kind of contract could we see in that respects

There is no such thing as a temporary contract.

There was a letter from Hemenway to the NMB about a two year deal for the M&R, but that was just to not get the IAM released from negotiations.

Got an update from our AGC today , I don't know if we are allowed to talk about it so ask your reps

Ok , I now have the Green light to discuss what our AGC Pat Rez shared with us This afternoon in the break rooms ...

First I don't want to get anyone's hopes up ..He reported to us that the talks are moving slowly ... There are going to be more talks scheduled for May and June ..

HOWEVER , there was a VERY important positive development that I personally am thrilled to share with all of you . As it was told to me , every April the company calculates flight numbers and does the break down of how many flights go in and out of our stations ..If a set amount of flights are not reached they have the ability via our current contract to outsource the station ...

Our negotiating committee and the company came to a LOA ( letter of agreement ) that will ensure that stations that get at least 7 flights a week will not be outsourced for the next year .. ( I think that's the jist of it , I DO have a bad memory )

So talks are still ongoing ... but at least stations that might have been outsourced are now protected .

EDIT: I want to add that I think that's an incredible act of good faith on behalf of the company , and I do appreciate that .

if that is true with regards to the 7 weekly flights that would mark a significant improvement... fyi i met pat recently he seemed to sound like a nice guy but i dont know him well so i cant deteremin how good he is w regards to union negogiations..
but i do believe the talks are slow as the company loves to be slower than a snail..

any word on compensation sick scope language other that what you been told

What I have told you is all that I've heard ...

As for pat , he's a good guy ... If my memory serves me correctly , WAY back in the day when we were AWA and NON-unionized he's the guy who led the drive to become TWU ( which couldn't have been an easy thing considering how apathetic people were )I do know that he was the President for the TWU as far as it concerned baggage handlers at AWA . So he's experienced if that's what your wondering .

when i met pat recently i suspected he was experienced but i did not know he had been a twu in fact when i met pat recently i also met several other iam folks including a las guy whose own experience propelled him to where he is at now... and i believe phx agc but not 100 sure if he was one i met but were they strictly twu n with hp.... also it will be interesting to see what kind of porposal they come with for compensation... and the duration of the agreement as well as what kind of protection they would be offering... if as you said is true with the regards to the 7 flights a week and the station is protected.. i wonder what would be givin up just for that...

Get and Have are two different things that got us into this mess in the first place....Like May and will ......

It sucks ...but coming from you i think its wrong ............and if you are correct...wow...a whole year

Crapp ola!

Tim, What happened after those nominations? Didn't you essentially pull out because you got your behind handed to you in the election. Also, did the hubs vote for you? I don't think so, maybe a few did, but I believe that the ND took most of the hubs didn't they? You post like the hubs actually wanted you, yet you couldn't garner enough votes to stay in the election? Why is that? Talk about misleading. You are the king of misdirection.
my team suspended yhe campaign and shifted to a legal battle after we felt the district had blatantly misappropriated funds. The dol pushed the complaint all the way up to the judge about a week ago so we will have to wait and see how the judge rules. I feel good about it but time will tell. But yeah both phl and phx usairways workers voted in majority for me over the incumbant. We suspended things for the legal fight before clt. regards,
