I have to disagree , one man can have a huge impact....once Ron came to power here in PHX he purged the former union leadership and assumed control ...he then "worked with " the former hated union leadership( IAM that was voted out of office ) getting into their good graces all the while directing efforts to encourage unity and activism here on the PHX ramp and this I only know from first hand experience , I was not made privy to whatever else he.might have been doing ...

I was tasked unofficially to handle matters.here on this board and to represent our view points along with whatever else was required of me .... While in some respect you might be correct that ours was a group effort , I cannot stress enough that the actions of this one man got us a new contract ... without him I have no doubt we would be like the pilots .

He is our strongest union asset , capable of motivating the apathetic , and that is not something to be taken lightly .

Short of a strike which was never going to happen at the time , we used every resource , every trick in the book to get what we did ...we gave everything we had and could not have given more .

Freedom, let me ask you a question. Since you seem to think the TA that was voted in was the absolute best we ever would have gotten, why would the membership have voted in something with less later? Also, you can't strike during TA negotiations, so that argument is a nonstarter.

Freedom, let me ask you a question. Since you seem to think the TA that was voted in was the absolute best we ever would have gotten, why would the membership have voted in something with less later? Also, you can't strike during TA negotiations, so that argument is a nonstarter.

You should watch your tongue , remember not only do I pay my union dues unlike some people ,.when requested i can be relied on to do my duty to the union UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE WHO SIT AT HOME AND #### ALL DAY ALL NIGHT .

I'm not saying that you don't pay your dues , but I will say I've never been impressed with the level of actual actions taken by many if you .

Also please note that the reason I'm speaking up is that I feel I represent some of the membership with my views ... You folks completely discount the past , its like you've forgotten that i was on the winning side which means I shared the majority opinion .

What about your duty to the AWA guys ? You hard core east people didn't give a suit about us after the merger.. all you cared about was getting back everything you lost , remeber all the time wasted on the change of control greievence ?
Remeber the class two cities 700 ? Remeber selling out everyone so you could keep catering ? Remeber your sixty day rule that flushed everyone from their jobs FOREVER ?

Most all of us have blood on their hands but at least our field staions voted for their contract.

yep the wining side huh? kind of a gray area there to begin with . You like to overlook the fact the all the other hubs were forced to vote off property which hurt turnout because it made it difficult for people to get there while working. Then lo and behold Phx was allowed to vote right on site. Have you ever thought why or cared? Because AH played your boy because they knew it would make it easy for them to get exactly what they wanted and you didnt disappoint them congratulations

Like I said he's not just cunning , he can be ruthless when he needs to ....no one could stand in his way , not the company ,not folks like yourself ...

PHX was known to be likely to vote yes for the reasons yo've suggested (those would be money, $'s, and bigger paychecks). Other stations did not get that advantage. Imagine if you and 10% of other eligible voters that could be expected to vote for the "Micky Mouse" platform, but were know to be too apathetic to go out and vote, were allowed to vote online. "Minnie Mouse" would be at a disadvantage, especially in a potentially close race.

well no DUH ... It was a pure stroke of genius doing the on site voting .. That's why when I say that he Is the man most responsible for this new contract , I'm not exaggerating .. He knew what he wanted and was prepared to go to any lengths to get it ...

Of course your only seeing what you consider as offense to you and yours , but he fought the company in numerous ways as well ... He basically conducted a two front war and won ...

If our union is having difficulty at the table I can only see our strongest move as to sit Ron Roth down at the table and let the men on the opposite side know that he has the complete support of the membership ... I can't even begin to imagine what he could do with an entire unified union backing him this go round ...
