Just because you low paid, former TWU CBA represented PHX rampers voted for money doesnt mean you are right.

It just means you were all out for yourselves and screwed your coworkers.

obviously PHX didn't defeat the ENTIRE network now did we ? you want to rant/rave/scream at someone , scream at the those who OUTNUMBERED US on the EAST side of the network , those who were making a living wage ...

can you blame people who made so little they qualified for FOOD STAMPS ?

You were the only one on this board being the cheerleader and trying to justify why you threw your union brothers and sister under the bus.

And you still try too.

And if your pay was crappy, no one forced you to work for HP and stay there, now did they?

Who nailed you to a cross?

haha !!!!!!!!!!!

good one .....

but I will say this ... honestly I doubt the intentions of a great many posters on here .. it's hard to know who is , and who is not speaking out of their own self interest .i'm sorry to say that , but when people get paid 100K a year , far more than people like me could ever make , it makes you wonder .(please don't take that as me saying that everyone who makes 100K a year is bad , I KNOW that some of them are VERY good , and deserve every penny they make , such as when Ron Roth was an AGC... and I will say this about Pat , he brought the union to PHX when no one else would )

obviously you've never worked or lived in Phoenix .

Keep trying to make excuses for your choices in life.

No one forced you to live in PHX nor work for HP and it crappy pay and benefits.

and you should remember that without OUR leadership , without OUR membership ...

NONE OF US might have jobs ...so you want to rant and scream at PHX , you had best RESPECT that it was our company AWA , that saved not only US AIRWAYS , but now AMERICAN AIRLINES ... if you think I will EVER be ashamed of that , then you have another thing coming .

Are you that ignorant?

US proposed the merger and raised the money, not HP and not Doug Parker.

How many times does that have to be posted?

keep telling yourself that .. and i'm sure once we merge with AA , they will tell themselves that it was AA who decided on this merger and made the entire thing happen ...

Are you truly that obtuse?

Let me show you once again, the truth and the facts.

http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/business/news/how-us-airwaysamerica-west-merger-got-off-the-ground-583656/

In January, with fuel prices at a record high and doubts aired about US Airways' survival after its Christmas baggage meltdown in Philadelphia, Lakefield picked up the phone and called Parker, suggesting that "maybe we should begin those talks again," according to Parker.

But America West did not have enough cash to lift US Airways out of bankruptcy. It was up to Luth, the US Airways adviser, to find enough investment money to piece the deal together and give the combined company a fighting chance to thrive in the battered airline industry.

Luth and US Airways had serious discussions with more than a dozen investors
. They all requested shared participation in a merged airline -- no one wanted to take on all the risk. The Retirement Systems of Alabama, which rescued US Airways from its first bankruptcy in 2003 with a $240 million investment, stands to lose it all if US Airways emerges from bankruptcy and issues new stock.
Luth went after the companies that had something to gain from an investment in US Airways and America West. Aircraft maker Airbus agreed to provide $250 million in exchange for US Airways' pledge to buy dozens of A320 jets in the future. Regional commuter carrier Air Wisconsin Airlines made a $125 million investment in exchange for a jet services partnership. The Appleton, Wis.-based airline will fly for the merged carrier on a contract basis.

Credit card companies may provide $300 million in order to reach new customers. And once-bankrupt Air Canada offered $75 million, good for a 7 percent stake in the new company, in exchange for the rights to bid on the maintenance contract for the new carrier's fleet of 361 jets.

Air Canada was the last in line.

Do i have your permission to post this on the AA board so they can see what kind of mentality live in the dessert?

Or better yet do you have the Pillota's to do it yourself!

If one has a sincere desire to serve they should already have the ability to fight. They would know the importance of good strategy and a sound game plan. If they posess none of these... then they do not posees a snicere desire to serve. They merely hold a well compensated position. In it for the money... so to speak.
Fair enough

Wondering out loud... with the recent overwhelming rejection of the DL 141 TA at UA what has the District Leadership and the UA NC taken away from the outcome of the ratification vote? The way I see it they will view it one of two ways. 1.) A humbling wake-up call to change their course and emphasis in negotiations to be more in line with what the membership is truly seeking and less in line with what's best for the District and the IAM. Or 2.) The ratification rejection was the result of not enough time to fully explain their TA, problems with the mail in ballot process, members not reading the entire agreement, membership apathy, CO employees being formally unrepresented, deflect blame, etc... Time will tell what their take and subsequent actions will be. IMO... their take will have a profound impact on our negotiations at US Fleet and quite possibly the future of the IAM on US Fleet property. Remember... with a potential representation election in the future the TWU and other unions are like wolves at the door. Anyone have any indication which way their leaning?
The IAM 141 rising eboard has balked at the former and insisted that the membership just didn't read their contract and have insulted us that the facebook campaign was largely responsible for the large TA rejection. It doesn't take long after you read about the unlimited part time, increased health care cost, scope restricted to only 7 stations [Yikes!], unlimited split shifts, 3 year wage freeze, and they split off stores from the ramp...among many other things....and the eboard thinks facebook killed it?? LMAO. I hate being right about IAM 141 rising crowd. Unfortunately, if they don't get it right quick, there won't be any 'officer elections' for United ramp and United PCE. And if they don't have someone with a strong skillset organizing a plan and advocating for the necessary funds, there won't be any IAM at US AIRWAYS for MX or ramp. I'm concerned that they don't have someone who fights the INTL to get funds, and I'm also concerned that it doesn't appear that the US AIRWAYS eboard members are advocating strongly enough to get the same $$$ commitment from the INTL as I got for the United employees. I had to crack some skulls to get the necessary funds because Delaney sure as hell didn't and don't go up against the INTL. regards,

I don't need to do it , but if you feel the desire to quote me , go ahead ...I've already explained my world view to our AA brothers and sisters ..

I am on record has having voiced complete confidence in this companies management .. I've said before and will say again , that I think Doug parker is the best airline CEO in the industry .

How can you have complete confidence in a management that negotiated deals with employees and a union who arent at US Airways and wont negotiate with its own employees in good faith?

because it SECURED a merger , one that we DESPERATELY need .... perhaps you no longer care because your retired , but as a worker it is ESSENTIAL that we continue to survive as an entity .

it was in the good and interests of all US airways employees that we become the largest carrier in the world ...
