Another School Massacre

Yeah, it was his fault for getting robbed. :)-/

It was his/her fault for being unarmed and apparently, entirely helpless in that situation. It's my and everyone else's fault if we EVER, indivdually or collectively, accept such behavior as being even the least bit "rational"...much less insanely made mandatory.

Why didn't you tell the cops what you saw?

Why didn't the cops just magically and instantly show up and save you, when you needed it? Surely, there were and are abundant laws against what happened to you? Don't proper and thought-out laws always prevent "gun violence"?....No?...What!?...You mean they don't!? You can NOT now, be even POSSIBLY insinuating that enough layers of laws wouldn't/couldn't have kept you perfectly "safe" then, or in the future?...Or that police don't just magically beam down any moment that you need them?

Yeah dell...and I had a german shepard that took out a florist because he reached into the back of a van and when his hands disappeared - down went the delivery guy. BUt we live in a nation where it's not just a loner thug....it's hordes of marauding thugs and we need semiautos with a 100 shot magazine to protect ourselves

Or maybe you could just buy 12 German shepards !

Don't need them. Had one labrador retriever get rid of one. The two I have now keep me feeling pretty safe...especially the younger one that has that nasty bark and that badass neck hair thing going on

Whatever the worst cases KC, and entirely unrelated to the thread here; labs are like love generators. Ya' just can't help but smile with even one or more of them around. :)

True enough..but I'll never forget when the cable guys were working in my backyard, the young one growled and the hair on the back of her neck stood straight up. The older one is much calmer, but she is my daughters dog. And I do believe that if anyone tried anything to hurt her, that sweet lovable lab would rip their throat off. But they ARE the best dogs every

Hair standing up is a natural reaction and not necessarily a life ending threat, especially from a Lab. Wifes fat old Lab did the same thing in similar situations but would turn tail. Hell if you had a seven shot clip, tap tap and no more Lab. Leaves five for you.

Oh yeah. They ARE stand-up dogs that'd likely have your back as best they can, but it's the "Hey!....Here I am!....See my smile!?...Gotta' love me...I'm a Lab!" part that endears them to me. I long-ago had a good friend that was part Dane, but mostly Lab, which essentially produced a sharper nosed "Lab" the size of a frikkin' pony....who was quite fond of planting both paws almost on the tops of my shoulders, whenever coming home after any significant time, and virtually tackling me in the process. Needless to say...well...she'd been adopted by my better half as a stray puppy while I'd been away much earlier, and wasn't so much subjected to the whole training regime that was the historical, family norm....No matter. Bottom line = Labs are just plain, cool dogs. :)

I know facts are easy to overlook, but the fact is - if a thug...or even a marauding hoarde...hears a dog bark, they go somewhere else. Because the dog alerts the homeowner and the thug or marauding hoards have no idea what the homeowner has.

Someone posted a lot of "home invasion" stories to "prove" how wrong I was, but most of them weren't really home invasions but were drug related, one was thwarted by a GUY going "what's going on here", and no note was made if the other had a dog.

Point being - you could have a Pomeranian yapping at the door, but that takes the element of surprise out of the attack - and the attacker more than likely move on to another home.

When my dog was a pup, I used to go home at lunch to let her out to pee. I was having lunch at home in my neighborhood made up mostly of dual income families, meaning no one was usually home. The doorbell rang and the dog started barking. I went to the door, only to see the person leaving. I guess he was a shy door to door sales rep. I called the police anyway, but the fact of the matter is - the person casing MY house walked off...thanks to that loveable old lab.

Which brings to mind something else...do you answer your door with your Glock in your hand? Because if you don't, and you answer a knock your door, and on the other side is a thug intent of doing what thugs do, you're sort of up the creek if you don't have that gun on you.
