How do we know what went on at the house? The kid probably had found the key or knew where it was without his mother's knowledge. Maybe he waited and stalked to kill her in the house.

Insane or not, the plan was well calculated and executed. We really don't know the whole story and speculation doesn't help. And yes the media manipulates the situation with its own brand of opinionated propaganda!

This is not a new event. Here is a brief account of the worst school disaster in US History.

Please note the time frame, method used and age of the sttacker.

The Bath School disaster is the name given to three bombings in Bath Township, Michigan, on May 18, 1927, which killed 38 elementary school children, two teachers, four other adults and the bomber himself; at least 58 people were injured. Most of the victims were children in the second to sixth grades (7–14 years of age[1]) attending the Bath Consolidated School. Their deaths constitute the deadliest mass murder in a school in U.S. history.
The bomber was school board treasurer Andrew Kehoe, 55, who was enraged about a property tax levied to fund the construction of the school building.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem."

People will always find a way to comet a violent act. One methods (guns) are easier and more efficient than others (knives, bombs) but the goal os to make it more difficult for people who should not have access to weapons hard to get them.

- All guns have a title of ownership issued them at time of build.
- Title gets answered to each owner at time of sale
- verification though a federal data base must be completed prior to sale and transfer of ownership.
- All guns must be stored in a secure certified vault/safe with trigger guard when not in use or being carried by owner.
- Theft of weapons must be reported immediately. Proof of theft must be provided. IE that safe better have its door ripped of the hinges or you better have been mugged. We know the judging want happen because gun owners can protect them selves right?

Given te number of weapons in the US the effect of such regulations will take a long time to be effective (2 or 3 generations I would think).

No rights are be abridged. You may continue to buy what ever weapons you want but you will be responsible for the guns. You will not be able to sell them to anyone who wants yo buy them with out verifying who they are.

Gosh...now we know whats in it, how about a republican congressman introducing a bill to pull that part out? I would imagine his rating with the NRA would drop to zero. Would you urge your congressman to remove the language from the Obamacare bill that prevents a psychologist from asking about firearms in the home? Would you support or object to a bill that says if a family member gets psychiatric treatment, the guns are removed for a period of time?

The problem with the pro gun side is they are against any control or limitations and come across as nuts. Guns are dangerous. they are designed to be dangerous, and there should be controls on who gets to carry these things among us. We do it for Automobiles. We have to register them and get a license to operate them, cars can be dangerous as well, but they are designed to provide transportation. Some claim that registration is the first step towards confiscation, well we've been registering our cars for years and they haven't taken them away from everyone, they have taken them from Drunk drivers and people who use them to go and buy drugs though.

The mother, who owned the guns, should have had control over her weapons !
As far as cars being registered, I don't believe the government views automobiles as a threat to their existence and power !

Chances are in Israel if the teacher doesn't have a gun, the military is near by. I think they took note on the Russian school incident a few years back by Muslim terrorists.

What happened in China, Sparky...is the direct result of no firearms in a country.
With that said, I agree 22 were not killed but it does reflect the next stage in the game after firearm confiscation.....a person with mental issues will still go the distance to hurt, maim or kill whether or not firearms are available.
