I guess "collateral damage" when referring to an OFFENSIVE attack (don't want the smoking gun to come in the form of a mushroom cloud....better to fight them there than over here....do unto others BEFORE they do unto you) in a country that didn't do anything to us on 9/11 is kind of bad. We INVADED a counry (Iraq) much like Iraq INVADED Kuwait. Iraw invading Kuwait was bad. The US invading Iraq was justified because of....what???
HOw soon we forget that after 9/11 the country that gave sanctuary to the attackers was the country that we "cut and ran" from in order to take out that threat of Saddam Hussein. Obama merely finished the job we should have finished in late 2002.

Lets not mention the fact that there are ZERO TOLERANCE for any type of weapons on school property. I've heard of kids suspended for having a pen knife, yet I also hear about teachers being attacked with pencils! 😱
For the anti-gun crowd, I would give you more credence if you get out of your picket fence community and go live in the low-income, gun violence sections of your towns and cities. Then you can voice your fecal knowledge for the rest of us!

BTW, the shool my kid attended was Shawnee Mission East, which includes students from the community of Mission Hills, Kansas, which was ranked by Forbes magazine as the third wealthiest municipality in the USA.. Tough times in the hood.

Yep...and it was here that this kid took a starter pistol to school as a prank. Would have been shot dead by one of NRA "arm everybody" supporters.

My brother is a highly trained LEO...SWAT instructor 25 years PD. Had a similar situation. Dumb ass kid was lucky it was him. Any of the guys with less experience (like some school teacher who had a week long class) would have dropped the punk.
I don't think a school teacher will have that option....I see combat course training with all the trimmings. If teachers don't want to step up, then it will go LEO's/Vets heavy on background training that fits.
I also don't think it needs to be funded from daddy in DC.

At some point a child will be shot. I think its a "when" not "if" situation. At that point the NRA will deny all responsibility and blame the teacher the kid.... Everyone else but them selves for not helping implement gun restrictions that help prevent the ut jobs from getting their hands on guns. Knowing the NRA they will probably suggest that the kids be armed so they can shoot back at the teachers.
Why would it be a NRA responsibility?

Of course this was just an isolated incident of a gun going into the hands of a bad guy. I am sure that gun-freaks will fault everyone possibly around, but not address the issue that there was yet another gun floating out of the hands of the very RESPONSIBLE-GOOD-GUY-MENTALLY SANE gun owner.
The mentality surrounding gun ownership here in America is comparable to the old tradition of blaming women in India for getting themselves raped due to how they were dressed and going out in the first place at night. http://www.irishtime...breaking21.html
As is here the case with the opinion that more guns will solve the problem, over there also a majority of people think that women are to blame for getting themselves into a situation of getting raped.
I know it's hard to draw the parallels in my statement, but it is all about how ignorance and old culture/believe are a hindrance in this modern world to deal with current problems affecting each separate society.
I don't believe though that things in this country will change anytime soon. It will take many hundreds more similar/consecutive (and even more spectacular) gun-related incidents, for there to be slowly a change in attitude. I don't see it happening anytime soon here in the US. It's the same believe that I don't see Iran discontinuing with their habit of hanging gay teens in the middle of a town square. You just can't change a country/culture based on a few incidents.
I do hope that gun-freaks get their way in making sure that more guns get out there, and I also hope that more extreme gun shootings happen as a direct result from it - until you one day realize that what we, the anti-gun people have told you all along - that arming more people will just make it worse. To each one who desires more guns out there, instead of trying to remove them, I hope that eventually someone in your family will be adversely affected by those same guns that you so badly wanted out there.

Lets not stray from the discussion. My comment was for the anti-gun crowd that has no clue how it's like where violence exists. I might not live there, but having worked sanitation, you see the scum spots of one's city.
Yes I realize that most of the 'school' vilence is done by the poor little richy rich white boys...that explains Virginia Tech.

You don't have to "LIVE" in the hood, if you have worked in it. Crime never sleeps, so I know what I'm talking about from dealing with the 'hood and the trailer. Both part of the urban ghetto.
