Unfortunately you are correct and I am one of the worst offenders. Let me take this opportunity to say to you that I do not blame you nor any other work group for the situation we AMTs are in today. At times I have digressed but this is due to frustration that comes with being treated like a second class citizen in my own union that I pay dues to. Please understand that I have no ill will towards you, but just have pointed out that in a REAL union, one group would not be singled out and given inferior benefits that every other group in the same union enjoy and have enjoyed since day 1. This is wrong no matter which side of the fence you sit on, but it continues in the TWU. We are being discriminated against by the very people who are supposed to watch out for us. Please accept my apology.
Absolutely, OldGuy...I have no ill will toward you or any other work group either. We all have been through some tough times and it is wearing thin on us all. Hopefully, to some degree, things will improve by what ever means. Until we all can enjoy better times, I wish you guys good luck in removing the TWU because I will admit, the ball has definitely been dropped with you guys and I'm not speaking of management....Good Luck!

The website being down was a simple over sight on my part regarding auto-renewal on the domain registration. It has been corrected now and the website is back up. I had to work the Memorial Day Holiday and did not have the password with me needed to renew via mobile phone. I apologize for the delay but the website is now reactivated.

amfa puled down its web site.

http://amfa-aa.com/ is gone. No more. Kaaput. Done. Finished. Over and out. Bye Bye....

Are you an actual aircraft mechanic? If so, you are unfit to touch an airplane. Your inability to distinguish between "the domain name registration has expired and this website is being reserved pending renewal" (you know, the actual facts) from "amfa puled (sic) down its web site" (your false allegation) is some evidence of your lack of fitness to fix anything, let alone an airplane.

In addition, it's conclusive evidence that you lack what it takes to represent fellow mechanics as a union official.

A sign perhaps?

amfa promised to file in May; maybe not. Is June 14 the next promise date? Sure, why not ?

Typical of the association to do whatever they want and force other members to answer and explain.

Can't wait to see the excuses you all will make for this....

amfa blows!!

Now that the web site is back up and running with an explaination on the reason it was temporarily down should extract an apology from you.

Go AMFA!

The Website is run by a fellow AA AMT. NOT AMFA. It costs money to and time to manage a web site. Why not ask the administrator of the website about it instead of posting here looking like the fool you are.

June 14th looks good.
BTW: How is the TWU drive coming along at SWA? How many times did the Teamsters say they were going to file? At least the Teamsters have a card drive going not like the fictitious one the TWU claims over at SWA.
IBT made 6 claims to file since last year. Now their drive is DEAD! Ha, ha back to you!

Haha... I almost forgot about the big TWU drive at SWA, what a joke! It is literally laughable...

Teamsters Seek American Air Election With Outsourcing a Key Issue

WASHINGTON, D.C. (TheStreet) -- Three weeks after calling for a union election among mechanics at US Airways , the Teamsters said Tuesday they have done the same at American Airlines .
Victories in both elections would enable the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to represent mechanics at what would be the world's largest airline if a pending merger of the two carriers is approved. But incumbent unions blasted the Teamsters Tuesday and are promising a fight.
"These mechanics and many of their co-workers have been working hard for many months to build a nationwide mechanic-led movement for change," said David Bourne, director of the IBT's airline division, who was speaking Tuesday at a press conference in Washington.
Bourne said the Teamsters filed Tuesday morning with the National Mediation Board to represent the approximately 10,500 American mechanics and related workers, currently represented by the Transport Workers Union. The International Association of Machinists represents about 3,500 US Airways mechanics and related. The IBT is not part of the AFL-CIO, which prohibits members from raiding other members. The IBT would not say how many workers have signed cards requesting a union election at American.

I still have not found anyone claiming to be a TWU organizer or a supporter.
No one even knows about any TWU card drive.
It's hard to get cards signed if you have nobody passing out cards.

http://amfa-aa.com/ Well there smart one? How `bout it?

"Changing unions is particularly risky while all the critical issues connected with establishing one agreement with uniform rates of pay and working conditions still must be negotiated as part of the American-US Airways merger," Drummond said. "Many mechanics signed cards calling for an election between unions because they believe in democracy, ironically a vote for the Teamsters means that democracy would be suspended."

This proves without a doubt that the appointed officials within the twu atd are complete buffoons!

Gary, really? Mechanics signed cards because they believe in democracy? You must be some sort of special scientist within the ranks of the appointed to realize this kernel of truth!

Voting for the teamsters would suspend democracy? You mean just like we have here with the twu atd?

It's time to get rid of the self serving, appointed sellouts called the twu at AA!

Go AMFA!

(Accidentally posted this in another topic)
And there you have it....

I love all the corporate cheer leaders leaving their comments in the Tulsa World article comments section. They berate labor while blindly cheering on the ruling classes. I suppose they do this in the hope they will be given some crumbs off the table and some boots to lick. I wonder how that is working out for them lately? Someone needs to tell them that the warm, wet feeling running down their backs is not rain.

My guess is that you will end up with a run-off between the AMFA and the IBT. TWU is history. There will be a lot of crying going on from the appointed ones after the first election.

What appointed ones are you referring to? AMFA will have the membership elect who they want to run the union no appointments.
